00:02 - Oh my gosh, thank you so much for welcoming me.
00:07 - You're welcome.
00:08 - It is everything I thought it would be and more.
00:11 - Dreamy.
00:12 - It is the dreamiest place ever.
00:14 Let's run this place down by the numbers.
00:16 - It is four bedrooms, three and a half bath,
00:19 and not exposed to any elements,
00:22 'cause Chicago weather sucks.
00:24 - I know.
00:24 - It's brutal.
00:25 - But you'll never know it
00:26 'cause you never need to leave this place.
00:28 - I know.
00:29 - This was an old factory.
00:30 All the skylight, the original 80 foot skylight
00:32 was hand cranked, so with all the fumes
00:35 and that would go out.
00:36 But this is an industrial building.
00:37 - How big is this place?
00:39 - It's like right around 7,000 square feet.
00:41 - Does that feel comfortable for you?
00:42 - Yes.
00:43 - It's very big and I'm very small,
00:44 so it's like, never felt shorter.
00:46 From the minute you walk in and see the office
00:50 to the minute you hit the double French doors,
00:52 everything has a story.
00:54 - What is the story here?
00:55 - So I found these.
00:56 This was the first trip to Paris.
00:58 Day one I go to the flea market, I find these.
01:00 - It's come from a palace in Italy.
01:02 - Beautiful.
01:03 - They are 19th century and very good condition.
01:06 - And I always knew that these were interior doors,
01:09 but they were kind of the front,
01:11 so I could get away with all this old gilded gold
01:14 'cause the weather won't destroy it.
01:15 - Right.
01:16 - So this is kind of that first impression.
01:18 - What is the sexiest feature in this house?
01:21 - The courtyard, because it's unexpected.
01:24 I thought I want a space where I never have to worry
01:27 about weather ever again.
01:28 Well, I never have to do anything
01:30 except feel like I am in an Italian garden 24/7,
01:35 365 days a year, heated marble floors.
01:39 We got these, we just patinaed everything
01:41 to make it look really old.
01:43 Put these faux olive trees with the uplights on 'em.
01:46 - Faux trees.
01:47 - Everything in here is faux everything.
01:49 I don't wanna water anything.
01:51 - Low maintenance.
01:51 - I don't want to plant anything.
01:54 - She's here to relax people.
01:56 - This is the dining room.
01:58 The old bow trusses are what hold up this building,
02:01 and then the 80 foot skylight runs throughout.
02:04 So you get this natural light,
02:05 and then you have these ceiling heights
02:07 that are just crazy.
02:08 I had two of these in my old office.
02:11 And then had my carpenter already build onto it
02:15 and add the ladder.
02:17 - The idea to go with green.
02:18 Is this a favorite color of yours?
02:20 - Is it?
02:21 I always say bring in the green.
02:22 It's just such a refreshing color.
02:24 It brings life and energy.
02:26 This is a custom color that I named green with envy.
02:29 I knew I wanted brass.
02:30 I do all these hoods for my clients,
02:32 and I was like, this is my time.
02:34 It's my turn.
02:35 Fence all the way up and out through the roof,
02:37 'cause this is brick to brick.
02:38 This was something where I was like,
02:40 I have to have something that nobody else has.
02:42 I wanted the coffee maker and the wine dispenser
02:45 and this nook just for me.
02:49 - Most expensive feature in this house?
02:52 - The pool, spool.
02:53 I wanted a hot tub, so that's what this is.
02:56 It's cool because it looks like a water fountain feature
02:59 when you're not using it.
03:01 And then I have this as a hot tub when I want it.
03:03 It's a great place to do karaoke, by the way.
03:06 - Go-to song?
03:07 - To Be With You, Mr. Big.

03:21 On the other side of the fireplace wall,
03:23 I'm gonna have Ari build a giant bar
03:25 that takes advantage of all of these big, tall ceilings.

08:34 Like I had to ask hard questions
08:37 and I had to do the research
08:39 and I had to constantly just go for it.
08:42 And then now I'm in a place where I'm like,
08:45 okay, well, you know what?
08:46 I worked my ass off to make money,
08:49 to pay my friends back, to live in this dream home
08:51 and I'll do just that.
08:54 But it's still a reality is this wouldn't have happened
08:57 without so many people.
08:59 And I'm just really grateful.
09:00 I'm gonna pinch myself every day that I live here.
09:02 Trust me.
