Nasa 21 Chinese militia vessels ang nakita sa Automatic Identification System na nasa direksyon papuntang Pag-asa Island nitong Biyernes, August 11.

Ang mga Chinese vessel na ito raw ang tumulong noon para harangin ang mga sasakyang pandagat ng Pilipinas na may pakay sanang resupply mission sa Ayungin Shoal, at binomba ng tubig ng China noong August 5.
