00:00 Seeing him in the shelter was heartbreaking to me.
00:02 This was my first time ever fostering a dog,
00:07 but I just knew that he was the one.
00:09 The day that I brought him home,
00:13 he really wanted nothing to do with me.
00:17 His cage definitely was his safe space.
00:30 He really wanted to be left alone.
00:34 I just kind of sat on the floor and I just had some treats.
00:37 He licked my hand and I was able to pet him.

00:56 Hi.
01:04 He did jump out one day.
01:06 You're a good boy.
01:07 He wanted to be social and explore, which was great.
01:10 What are you doing?
01:20 You could just see it in his eye that he felt safe.
01:22 Hi, you like this bed better?
01:25 Yeah?
01:28 It was definitely an experience watching him
01:33 try to figure out what a toy was.
01:35 He had no idea that those even existed.
01:41 My dog definitely helped Gunnar come out of his shell.
01:44 All he wanted to do was play.
01:52 (upbeat music)
01:54 He was so excited to see anyone that came over
02:03 and wanted to give him attention.
02:04 I know.
02:08 Oh my goodness.
02:11 Seeing him so terrified of life and within two months
02:16 just becoming a totally different dog
02:18 was probably the greatest thing to see.
02:22 He was ready to be in a forever home.
02:24 Hey Gunnar.
02:33 Gunnar.
02:34 Hey.
02:35 Hey.
02:36 Let me kiss mommy.
02:40 My daughter really felt like the other dog needed pal.
02:43 Oh, so happy.
02:46 So happy we missed you.
02:51 Gunnar has that just amazing puppy energy.
02:53 They're great together.
