00:00 So today is a huge milestone for the project.
00:03 So we are lifting in the bridge beams for the southern bridge.
00:08 So on the south side of the roundabout.
00:10 So 18 beams in total and they will form what will be the southern bridge over the roundabout.
00:16 It's been a long time coming, a lot of the work that we've done to this point, so almost
00:20 two years now, has been leading to this point.
00:24 So we've had to do a lot of preparation work, move a lot of soil around, prepare the ground.
00:31 A lot of people have seen on the south side of the roundabout, we've constructed the retaining
00:35 walls of the main structure as well.
00:38 So this is the next in line with the programme.
00:44 So yeah, like I said, it's kind of a really big step for us and a long time coming.
00:51 Our works take all sorts of shapes and sizes, all sorts of forms.
00:55 So at the very start of the project, it's hard to, as you're driving past and you only
01:00 really get a snapshot, it's hard to really understand and sometimes see what's actually
01:04 happening.
01:05 Completely appreciate that a lot of the work is done away from the carriageway and away
01:08 from the public eye.
01:11 But it's all part of a process.
01:12 So you have to prepare the area.
01:14 So you have to do a lot of vegetation clearance, you have to do a lot of environmental mitigation
01:18 work, so you know, sort of rehousing wildlife, creating habitats, all these kind of things.
01:23 You then have to actually prepare the ground.
01:26 So there's a lot of chalk around here, it takes a lot of excavation.
01:29 We've got a huge surplus of material that needs to be removed, removed off site, reused
01:35 elsewhere.
01:36 All these kind of things is kind of preparing for what people will then see is actually
01:42 when you start to see things come out of the ground.
01:45 The project is going really well and we are on track and we just really appreciate that
01:50 people bear with us and we know that we will have some road closures and traffic management
01:55 setups to come that will create disruption.
01:58 And just to know that they are absolutely necessary and we always try and plan as best
02:03 we can to limit the disruption while being able to create this safe working room to build
02:07 what we need to build.
02:08 And yeah, just to have people bear with us and patience and bear with us while we do
