00:00 Hello and welcome to this week's Movie Math
00:03 where Barbenheimer continues its path
00:06 of box office dominance
00:08 and other movies just try to hold on
00:11 with varying results
00:13 although there are a few winners
00:15 in this amazing Hollywood storm.
00:18 But let's talk about the big winners
00:20 and that's of course Barbie and Oppie.
00:22 What are they up to this week?!
00:24 Well Barbie, in addition to being the first billion dollar club entry
00:27 directed solely by a woman
00:29 is now the most successful film domestically
00:32 ever directed by a woman
00:34 in any capacity.
00:36 (She didn't make as much money as Greta Gerwig for Barbie, domestically.)
00:40 (Domestically.)
00:42 (She's a billionaire.)
00:44 Barbie is the most successful live action movie ever...
00:48 (These are some crazy asterisks...)
00:50 (A record is a record broken.)
00:52 (So any live action film directed by a woman in any capacity)
00:56 (cannot outdo Barbie.)
00:58 (Except for the one with the most money.)
01:00 (The reason I had to specify live action)
01:02 (is because Frozen and Frozen 2)
01:04 (are still way out ahead)
01:06 (and I don't think Barbie's gonna catch up to that.)
01:08 (It's great, these two movies march on.)
01:10 (Don't worry, Oppenheimer's gonna get its flowers momentarily.)
01:14 (Barbie - the Oppenheimer fans are so sensitive!)
01:19 Alright, so anyway, I mean, Barbie's a mega hit!
01:22 Alright, so...
01:24 This next one's gonna hurt, if you're an Oppenheimer fan.
01:27 So Barbie is also going to surpass The Dark Knight this coming week
01:31 as Warner Bros' most successful film domestically of all time.
01:36 That's amazing! Wow! I mean, that's incredible!
01:39 Worldwide for Warner Bros, Barbie is currently behind only one movie
01:43 and it ain't a Batman movie!
01:45 It's only the final Harry Potter movie that's done better.
01:48 I don't think Barbie's gonna be able to catch that one either.
01:50 But yikes! Warner Bros is definitely gonna make another Barbie movie
01:54 even if it's just the Ken spinoff.
01:56 You know, the optics of the Barbie sequel being about Ken
01:59 maybe aren't that great, but maybe some other Barbies can join 'em.
02:02 But Barbie's story is kind of done.
02:05 And I think that Ken... Ken is not done, clearly.
02:08 And Ken is such a big fan favorite.
02:11 I think that, you know, I personally feel that's the path forward for the franchise.
02:16 They're just gonna have to find a way to make it work.
02:19 And they're going to try, because this is just too much money.
02:22 Not only overall, but as you can see for Warner Bros specifically.
02:26 So what about the career boosts?
02:29 Whenever a movie does this well
02:31 everybody's supposed to level up career-wise.
02:33 Although the strikes are making it a little difficult.
02:36 But the strikes are a necessary evil.
02:38 This must happen.
02:40 But let's just see - so everybody's kind of on pause
02:43 so I thought it would be fun this week to kind of see where everybody is
02:46 and where they might potentially be going.
02:48 And don't worry, we're going to do Oppenheimer too!
02:51 Now, Margot Robbie's Lucky Chap Entertainment
02:54 already has a first look deal with Warner Bros.
02:56 That's how they got Barbie!
02:58 And she also, Margot Robbie, is producing Saltburn
03:01 coming out later this year from Emerald Fennel
03:03 they teamed up before on Promising Young Woman
03:05 remember that movie? Loved it!
03:07 That had a little controversy
03:09 where one critic was a jerk and said Margot Robbie should have played the lead role there.
03:12 I will not take this Cary Mulligan slander, thank you very much!
03:16 Cary Mulligan is in Maestro from Netflix
03:19 which is a major Oscar contender this year as well.
03:21 But anyway, Saltburn is for MGM
03:24 so I guess Warner Bros. passed on it
03:26 first look deals means that Warner Bros. gets the right of first refusal
03:30 to any project that Margot Robbie wants to produce.
03:33 So anyway, there's Oscar buzz for Saltburn
03:37 as well as Barbie, so Margot Robbie is competing with herself.
03:40 And...although she divulged
03:43 she's told it a couple of times
03:45 but the headline made some real...
03:47 you know, really made the rounds these past few days
03:49 that Margot Robbie was not Margot Robbie's first choice to play Barbie!
03:52 She wanted Gal Gadot to do it
03:54 which I think would have been absolutely awful
03:56 because again, I don't think Gal Gadot is a good enough actress
03:59 you know, I think she does have that appealing factor
04:01 that Margot Robbie referenced
04:03 but thankfully Greta Gerwig said
04:05 "I'm writing Barbie for you, Margot
04:07 so you gotta do it."
04:09 So that's the reason that Greta Gerwig is a boss.
04:11 Lucky Chap

05:25 with Ryan Gosling - I don't know if this is a good idea...or Warner Bros again - for that
05:31 Ocean's Eleven prequel set in Monte Carlo in the 1960s.
05:35 This was SUPPOSED to start filming at the end of June, but you know, Margot Robbie and
05:40 Ryan Gosling were busy promoting Barbie with that 12-day extension on the SAG contract
05:46 so that took them into early July and then SAG went on strike.
05:49 So the Ocean's Eleven Monte Carlo prequel - which actually sounds pretty good when you
05:54 think about it - didn't get to start filming.
05:56 So who knows how long it'll take.
05:58 And maybe - would you pull the plug on that now?
06:01 I'd be nervous to mess up - I don't know if I would want to re-team Margot Robbie and
06:05 Ryan Gosling, although maybe that's your de facto Barbie sequel right there.
06:10 J. Roach is directing, which I have mixed feelings about.
06:13 Let's see, I don't know, would you continue with that film?
06:16 Or did the SAG strike maybe give them an out?
06:20 Alright, meanwhile, Ryan Gosling - that Kennergy's working for him, he DID wrap filming on a
06:25 project, and that's a 1980s set - all the period pieces for Ryan Gosling - a 1980s action
06:33 thriller which is a film adaptation of the TV show from that time period, The Fall Guy.
06:38 Gosling takes over the lead role, playing a stuntman working on a new movie where the
06:42 star goes missing.
06:44 Pretty good cast!
06:45 This sounds a little bit like Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, quite frankly - which I
06:49 enjoyed most of it - and then it's directed by David Leitch, who of course I think has
06:54 kind of a little bit of a spotty track record, but that's pretty darn good for Ryan Gosling.
06:59 Now what about Greta Gerwig?
07:01 The only deal Greta Gerwig currently has is that Netflix Narnia one.
07:05 Ugh, I'm sure that seemed like a really great idea at the time, but she's attached to not
07:10 just one but two movies in that deal.
07:12 Aw, I wish - I'm sure she wishes she hadn't signed that.
07:16 You know, she blinked!
07:17 And I don't blame her!
07:18 So who has been Greta Gerwig up until now?
07:21 And Narnia is a big deal.
07:22 So before Barbie came out - she wasn't sure which way it was going to go - she signed
07:26 the deal.
07:27 She got it into place, she was talking it up before Barbie opened using that publicity
07:31 to help with the Netflix Narnia situation, but now she's booked for a very long time!
07:38 What studio is going to want to get a deal with Greta Gerwig when she won't be available
07:41 for so long?!
07:42 She's not going to be able to get back into the box office arena any time soon for a major
07:46 studio, and I find that very disappointing.
07:48 I don't know why these female directors can't do the second round.
07:54 You know, we've had a couple breakthrough with an initial round, but they're really
07:57 having trouble with the follow-up.
08:00 And then of course, Greta Gerwig speaking of problems headed her way, she is a co-writer
08:05 on Disney's live action Snow White.
08:08 Which is already having horrible PR situations.
08:11 Some of it toxic, just the toxic space that we're in right now, but some of it it's own
08:16 fault.
08:17 I used to believe that everything good in the movie was from Greta Gerwig and everything
08:20 bad was from the other screenwriter.
08:22 If I were Greta Gerwig's manager, that's how I'd be spinning it, but yikes, I think that's
08:28 going to undo some of the goodwill that Barbie has built up for her.
08:31 Because I do feel from what we've seen so far, that Snow White might be indefensible.
08:36 And there's your Gal Gadot!
08:38 Alright, so anyway.
08:39 Now back to Barbie itself.
08:40 Rumor has it that Barbie will be hitting digital the first Tuesday of September.
08:46 Which gives the movie three more weekends exclusively in theaters, including Labor Day
08:50 weekend.
08:51 Although that's not historically a big movie going weekend.
08:53 Although Shawn Chee found a lot of success there, and I think Equalizer 3 is going to
08:57 do well in that space too.
08:59 So we'll see, we'll see!
09:01 And also Kraven picked that for next year when it got moved because of the strikes.
09:05 So will that give Barbie enough time to surpass Super Mario Bros to become the biggest movie
09:11 of 2023?
09:12 Well, with no big markets left for the film to open in, it just hit two of its biggest
09:17 markets this past weekend.
09:18 And it did well for those markets, but it didn't add substantially to its bottom line.
09:23 So I think it's possible to surpass Super Mario Bros, but it's going to be a squeaker.
09:28 We'll see.
09:29 As for Oppenheimer, alright it just entered the bottom half of my overall projection,
09:35 with $649 million worldwide to date.
09:39 At this point I said it could go maybe to eight.
09:42 I think it's going to finish with a seven in front of it, which would put it on par
09:45 with Inception - a much more action-oriented film with a much bigger star, Mr. Leonardo
09:51 DiCaprio.
09:52 Oppenheimer is also now one of the top ten highest grossing R-rated films of all time
09:56 domestically - but that's still incredible - and with $75.8 million from IMAX alone,
10:02 that makes it one of the most successful IMAX films ever.
10:06 Ever released in IMAX.
10:07 And that certainly strengthens Nolan's relationship with the IMAX brand - a relationship that
10:12 benefits both parties, as this ups the prestige of IMAX overall and might entice other filmmakers
10:18 to prioritize that format.
10:20 You know, get it so you have to see THEIR movie on IMAX too!
10:23 I think that that kind of prestige has been a big part of Oppenheimer's success.
10:29 Nolan hasn't revealed what his next project will be, but he's been pretty vocal that he
10:33 would like it to be Bond.
10:35 Now he's also said, as some of you have pointed out, that he would want full creative control
10:39 and that ain't never going to happen, because this is Barbara Broccoli's ONLY thing!
10:44 It's all Barbara Broccoli does, and Michael G. Wilson.
10:46 She is Ms. Bond.
10:48 So she's not going to hand over full creative control to Nolan.
10:51 But maybe he'd be happy with the most creative control that a director has ever gotten to
10:54 date?
10:55 And I mean I think they're going to get along, because clearly for the last few movies, Barbara
11:00 Broccoli has told her filmmakers to just copy Christopher Nolan.
11:04 Cillian Murphy is only signed for another small film, but he was not a big name prior
11:09 to this.
11:10 And with the current actors' strike, his team might just wait for his best actor noms to
11:14 come along for him to get his next project.
11:16 Just to strengthen his situation.
11:19 And if he WINS best actor, he'll be able to get multiple leading man roles in top prestige
11:25 studio films.
11:26 I mean, especially with the right director - a Nolan-esque director - I think he would
11:31 be quite in demand.
11:33 I think a lot of people who like that type of movie have really identified with his performance,
11:38 as you can see from all the memes and stuff and GIFs online.
11:42 So I think there's definitely something there.
11:44 I didn't even like Oppenheimer, as you know, but as a studio suit, I'd be ready to sign
11:49 up for Cillian Murphy's dance card as soon as that SAG strike ends - oh boy, I'd be like
11:53 "Dance with me, Cillian!"
11:55 I have the perfect partner for you, Denis Villeneuve, perhaps?
11:59 Something like that.
12:00 And of course, he certainly has his fans thanks to his long-running role on Peaky Binders,
12:05 but he might finally be able to level up to carrying a film to at least a degree.
12:09 He could be like a new Mark Ruffalo, right?
12:11 Getting in films like Spotlight and things like that, where you're like "Maybe he can't
12:15 carry a film all by himself, but if I add him to maybe one or two other actors, like
12:20 say Zodiac - which I just re-watched the other day, it was a great re-watch - made me miss
12:25 Mindhunter."
12:26 Mindhunter, Mindhunter, Mindhunter - you know, that show, it made me miss that a lot.
12:31 But anyway, I think that's, you know, maybe the new Mark Ruffalo.
12:34 Mark Ruffalo's like "Man, come on, I'm barely holding on myself!
12:38 It's tough out there!
12:39 It's tough out there, Mark Ruffalo!
12:40 Go make friends with Christopher Nolan!"
12:42 Alright, so anyway.
12:44 Also, Robert Downey Jr. - who else could benefit from Oppenheimer?
12:47 What about our DJ, who's surely hoping the buzz about him being a frontrunner for Best
12:51 Supporting Actor comes true?
12:53 I mean, Downey's been burned before, and he's going up against Ken, so that's gonna
12:58 be tough.
12:59 But, you know, Robert Downey Jr. has certainly been working hard to keep himself busy post-Marvel.
13:05 But none of it's worked out!
13:07 But upcoming, he has that quirky spy show for HBO which I actually think looks excellent,
13:12 and he's supposed to be doing another Sherlock Holmes - maybe, maybe that'll materialize
13:16 - and he is signed up for the upcoming Adam McKay and Shane Black movies.
13:21 That's excellent.
13:22 That's very good for him.
13:23 Adam McKay, I think, especially.
13:25 And then Shane Black works very well with Robert Downey Jr.
13:28 Shane Black helped Robert Downey Jr. get Iron Man, thanks to Kiss Kiss Bang Bang!
13:32 But it's no secret that Robert Downey Jr.'s career has struggled post-MCU, and he really
13:37 needs Oppenheimer to give him some momentum as a serious actor again.
13:41 You know, I'd say Robert Downey Jr. is a bit like Ben Affleck in that they're both trying
13:45 to regain the prestige of their careers before they joined comic book franchises.
13:51 Although it's interesting, I think Ben Affleck was in a little bit of a better space prestige-wise,
13:57 although of course Robert Downey Jr. had a better comic book run.
14:02 They both made insane amounts of money, particularly Robert Downey Jr. off of their comic book
14:06 runs, so again don't feel bad for them.
14:08 But it'll be interesting to see if they can rehabilitate their careers and go back to
14:12 what they were that got the comic book movies to want to hire them in the first place!
14:16 Meanwhile Mark Ruffalo doesn't have any money either.
14:18 I don't know why I'm picking on Mark Ruffalo today...
14:21 Sorry, Mark!
14:22 Alright, so as for the movies trying to survive Barbenheimer...
14:26 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is holding on okay, and should be able to cross the century
14:30 mark in the next few weeks thanks to not only solid weekend performances, but it's doing
14:35 pretty well during the week as well because you know, of course school is out, and people
14:38 are checking it out during the week.
14:40 I mean Dungeons & Dragons couldn't pass the century mark, so that would be very nice for
14:44 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
14:46 Having the strong audience scores will certainly help, but it really needs to perform on digital
14:51 and then on Paramount Plus down the line, and ideally get nominated for Best Animated
14:55 Feature to make sure that that greenlit sequel - and the two season animated series that's
15:00 supposed to bridge the two films - actually happen.
15:03 You know they announce all this stuff all the time, right when a movie's about to come
15:07 out to try and get you excited and feel the train is leaving the station, you better get
15:11 on!
15:12 And then also if the box office doesn't materialize, we've seen those plans mysteriously fade away.
15:18 But if they do move forward with more Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, let's hope it moves
15:22 faster than the other Seth Rogen-produced project, Invincible.
15:25 Come on, season two?!
15:27 And being released in two halves?!
15:28 What kind of garbage is this?!
15:31 And then the Meg 2, as some of you pointed out last week, it's doing very well overseas.
15:35 In fact so well that it might break even theatrically.
15:38 Remember, when all is said and done, a studio gets about 50% of the box office.
15:43 That would make it all gravy though on digital and then down the line on Macs when it plays
15:48 on the Mac streaming service.
15:50 Now is this good enough for "The Meg 3"?
15:52 You know, maybe it is.
15:54 Clearly Jason Statham has no illusions about what his career really is.
15:58 Haha, he's like "I get paid a decent amount of money to make crap."
16:01 You know, hey, he's a draw overseas, he's earning that paycheck, so maybe they will
16:05 make The Meg 3.
16:07 You know what, maybe people actually might see The Expendables 4 with him and Megan Fox.
16:11 Now I'm thinking people might actually watch that!
16:13 The last voyage of the Demeter sure could've used Jason Statham!
16:17 Wow, it opened under ten million!
16:19 Pretty - I mean he wouldn't have fit in the movie at all, but who cares?!
16:23 Haha, he would've brought in people to see it!
16:26 I mean, this is devastating for a film from a major studio - Universal in this case - and
16:31 when horror is doing pretty well these days!
16:33 But nobody wanted to see this movie...
16:36 Speaking of Universal, this is their first recent B-movie that has NOT connected in theaters
16:40 AT ALL.
16:41 But that doesn't mean it won't connect down the line on digital.
16:44 Are you waiting for digital?!
16:46 Is this just a pure digital release in your opinion?
16:49 It will definitely hit in seventeen days.
16:52 As for the rest of the top ten, the bleeding seems to have slowed - I wouldn't say stopped
16:56 - but slowed on Haunted Mansion, which fell just under 40% in its third weekend.
17:01 But it's still an incredibly embarrassing performance for Disney, and hurts rather than
17:05 helps the fan-favorite Haunted Mansion brand.
17:08 So many problems - not just releasing the film, a Halloween film, in the middle of July.
17:14 But I mean that certainly didn't help.
17:16 But wow, just a disaster across the board.
17:19 So bad that Justin Simien got pulled off Lando and had to find out via Instagram.
17:24 Whew!
17:25 And while Indiana Jones has made more than Mission Impossible domestic, Tom Cruise is
17:30 himself something of an international star, and Mission Impossible is much further ahead
17:35 overall.
17:36 Now, while they won't be making any more Indiana Jones movies for quite some time - never say
17:40 never in Hollywood - they will make Indiana Jones again someday.
17:43 Although I would not mind one coming up with bringing back K.Y.
17:47 Kwan, a short round, I mean let's just do it.
17:49 Let's do it.
17:50 Let's just pretend this one didn't happen.
17:53 But how the heck is Paramount going to pitch the new Tom Cruise movie, the next Mission
17:57 Impossible, that's already been filmed?
17:59 That's definitely coming out next summer.
18:01 Now some of you have suggested maybe they should take Part 2 off of the title, right?
18:05 So that you feel like you don't have to have seen the first movie to see this new one.
18:10 But the only problem is that it's very much a Part 2 and you won't be able to follow the
18:14 new movie if you haven't seen Part 1.
18:16 So Tom Cruise's only hope is that this thing blows up on digital and streaming.
18:19 And it was SO GOOD!
18:21 I hope that you DO catch it down the line - it was a GREAT movie!
18:24 I really think that the big problem here was Barbenheimer.
18:26 I mean it was a great film.
18:28 Although the opening even wasn't that great.
18:30 Oh, it was rough.
18:31 It was rough.
18:32 What a mess.
18:33 That really is shocking.
18:34 Over on streaming, starting with Nielsen for the second week of July, Suits has not slowed
18:39 down either.
18:41 Suits is like the Barbenheimer of streaming right now!
18:44 Because viewers make their way through all nine seasons, baby, on Netflix and Peacock.
18:49 They're watching it all!
18:50 And they're not skimming, apparently.
18:52 People have just committed to watching all nine seasons of Suits!
18:56 I think - I bet - at this rate, they're going to make Season 10.
18:59 As soon as the writers and the actors strike ends, I bet you somebody greenlights Season
19:02 10.
19:03 I mean, certainly Peacock!
19:04 What does Peacock have over there?
19:05 Give himself Suits Season 10 for Pete's sake.
19:08 Or Peacock's sake.
19:10 Then wow, let's talk about Bluey!
19:12 An acquired show, number two on the overall chart.
19:15 Bluey will not be ignored!
19:16 I've seen a number of you say in the comments over the past year or so, "When is she going
19:21 to talk about Bluey?"
19:22 Look how well it's doing!
19:23 Well, there you go!
19:25 Kudos to Bluey!
19:27 And the babysitting for kids on Disney+ - where, you know, The Simpsons though is never on
19:31 here so I guess it's not babysitting quite to the same degree.
19:35 And Netflix's The Outlaws movie went up from its debut last week, actually getting close
19:40 to a thousand, which is very impressive for an Adam Devine movie.
19:44 And I really like Adam Devine, but I have no illusions about his career either.
19:48 Although maybe it's going up.
19:50 You know, maybe Adam Sandler has found his true predecessor, Adam Devine.
19:54 At least on Netflix.
19:55 And I've actually gotta tell ya, I think that tracks.
19:57 It was an okay movie, I watched it.
19:59 Alright, over on the Originals chart, sure enough, their secret invasion almost out of
20:04 the top ten with still two episodes to go.
20:07 More embarrassment for Disney.
20:10 And while The Bear has fallen out of the overall top ten, it's still solid here on the OG
20:14 chart.
20:15 And remember, we're keeping an eye on The Bear because Hulu released it as a binge watch
20:18 rather than week-to-week.
20:20 And it's still doing well.
20:21 You know, that turned out not to torpedo the show.
20:25 As for movies, another new movie for Netflix, Bird Box Barcelona, only did okay.
20:30 Certainly not anything like the first Bird Box.
20:33 Which Sandra Bullock should feel good about, 'cause she's like "It wasn't Bird Box that
20:36 got people to watch, it was me!"
20:39 And the latest Transformers is only doing okay on Paramount+.
20:43 But hey, also this is interesting, Moana is on this chart but Encanto has fallen off!
20:48 What the heck?!
20:49 It's like a sign of the apocalypse that Moana and Encanto aren't both on here.
20:53 Although maybe it'll come back next week.
20:55 I'm still waiting to see if The Little Mermaid can join or replace one of these movies when
20:58 it hits Disney+.
21:00 Very soon actually, you know, the beginning of September as well.
21:04 Over on Netflix, Jackie Chan and John Cena still have the number one movie, while Ellie
21:08 Kemper's new rom-com rose to number two in its second week.
21:13 New movies Riverwild, which is inspired by the 90s movie with Meryl Streep and David
21:17 Strathahan - but this one has teen heartthrobs Adrian Brody and Leighton Meister as replacements
21:23 - but anyway, and the Jake Paul documentary, well they both failed to impress.
21:28 Then with shows, Heartstopper Season 2 didn't debut at number one, but number two is pretty
21:33 darn good.
21:34 And let's see what happens next week when it has a full week of viewership.
21:37 And then also I would like to see Heartstopper Season 1 get pulled into the top ten, which
21:41 is important for shows when it comes to longevity.
21:44 It hasn't happened yet, but again maybe we'll see it happen next week.
21:48 Then on iTunes - wait a minute, did Cobweb actually - did it ever hit theaters?
21:52 Or did this become a direct-to-video release?
21:55 This is the new horror movie with Lizzie Caplan and Homelander!
21:58 Why doesn't Anthony Starr get more work outside of The Boys?
22:01 Thankfully this is number two.
22:03 And he's in The Covenant too, which is still in the top ten.
22:06 So I hope his agent is pointing this out to people.
22:09 Spider-Verse is still doing very well on digital, including a two-pack which is doing big business,
22:15 as is The Little Mermaid and Super Mario Bros, but it looks like The Flash is starting to
22:20 fade.
22:21 Then speaking of DC, the brand has a huge test coming up this weekend as they try to
22:27 launch Blue Beetle.
22:28 Will it crater like The Flash?
22:30 Did James Gunn truly kill the remaining DC movies by saying he was going to - well he's
22:35 doing a soft reboot!
22:36 He has promised that Blue Beetle is actually the first member of the new world that he's
22:41 building.
22:42 But is Blue Beetle really?
22:43 Is he really?
22:44 I think the box office will be what ultimately decides.
22:47 And are you planning to see Blue Beetle in theaters this weekend?
22:51 If you're a DC fan - and I wonder how many of those are left at this point - but if you're
22:56 a hardcore DC fan, you GOTTA show up!
22:59 This is super super important.
23:02 The review embargo lifts Wednesday afternoon.
23:06 Also this weekend at theaters, Universal has Strays which might make The Last Voyage of
23:12 the Demeter's box office look pretty darn good.
23:15 I think Universal was doing really well with their B-movie pipeline, but might have hit
23:19 like a little bit of blockage.
23:21 These seem like C-level movies, quite frankly.
23:24 But digital - oh this is a big week.
23:26 Elemental becomes available - not on Disney+, but for purchase or very high priced rental
23:32 wherever digital movies are sold.
23:33 And I'm not waiting for Disney+, I'm picking up Elemental - I can't wait to see it again.
23:38 But then also, no hard feelings.
23:41 Now this is a Sony movie, so that means in a couple of weeks, maybe a month or so, it
23:45 will eventually get to Netflix.
23:47 But I think this is gonna do very well, even on digital.
23:50 In fact, I'm planning to watch it, and I'm planning to watch it with YOU!
23:55 Because this will be August's BTT Movie Club Watch Along, happening THIS FRIDAY - Sundays
24:00 have not been good for watch alongs, so I'm moving them to Fridays - so it's this Friday
24:04 at 6pm EST.
24:07 Again I've not seen this movie, and it's not only supposed to be very funny, but quite
24:11 shocking - so it should make for a really good watch along.
24:14 You need your own copy of the film to participate, and be a movie club member, so level up or
24:19 join today.
24:20 It's gonna be real fun, I can't wait.
24:22 As for streaming movies, Netflix has a new animated The Monkey King on Friday, then with
24:27 shows there's season 4 of Solar Opposites dropping on Hulu tomorrow - they're like "Why
24:33 don't we try dropping a show on Monday?
24:35 Let's try it, why not?!"
24:36 It is season 4, so it has viewers, while Netflix brings back The Upshaws - also multiple seasons
24:43 in - on Thursday, and Peacock has season 2 of Killing It.
24:48 And on Friday, Prime Video has something called Harlan Coben's Shelter - I've never heard
24:53 of Harlan Coben, but apparently he's a very prolific author who specializes in thrillers
24:58 and has an audience, and this show is based on the first young adult novel he ever wrote.
25:03 So you might want to check that out!
25:05 So that's this week's Movie Math!
25:07 What have you been watching, what do you plan to watch, and do you think Blue Beetle can
25:11 face off against Barbenheimer?
25:13 It will be Barbenheimer many weeks in.
25:16 So let's see, let's see...
