00:49 some people are calling for Sandra to return her Oscar.
00:52 - Saying stuff like she need to relinquish her title
00:55 doesn't make any sense.
00:56 - Now her co-star who plays Michael in the film
00:58 tells TMZ Sports that people need to back off.
01:03 - She did a brilliant performance, you know,
01:06 and that shouldn't be tarnished for, you know,
01:10 something that had nothing to do with her.
01:12 I really feel like, you know,
01:15 we live in a society today where people are so held
01:18 and on point and blame on people.
01:21 And to make a statement like that doesn't make any sense.
01:24 Sandra Bullock didn't have anything to do
01:26 with the real story.
01:27 - Never had one before.
01:28 - What a room to yourself.
01:30 - I bet.
01:32 - Family isn't the one really that you're born in

01:40 - As for Quentin, he admits he doesn't know
01:42 what to think of Michael's allegations
01:44 against the Tui family.
01:46 - I don't even know what to think.
01:47 I didn't get the sense that they were the type of people
01:51 to do something like that.
01:52 It's unfortunate 'cause I love both of them.
01:54 Like I said, the most I can do is pray that
01:57 everything works out and that it doesn't completely

02:03 - In his lawsuit, Michael claims the Tui family
02:05 made millions off his name after the film,
02:08 which tells the story of the Tui family taking him in,
02:11 helping to transform his life on and off the football field,
02:14 earned more than $300 million at the box office.

02:20 - Everything.
02:21 Was it for you or was it for me?
02:23 Was it so I would go to school with you money?
02:25 - Michael was there.
02:26 It wasn't like there was an agenda.
02:28 He had a need.
02:30 We recognized it.
02:31 - But in the 14-page petition,
02:33 Michael says the Tui family never officially adopted him
02:37 and claims they tricked him into signing paperwork
02:40 that locked him into a conservatorship,
02:42 which gave them legal authority
02:44 to make business decisions in his name.
02:46 In an interview with the Daily Memphian,
02:48 Sean Tui, the family patriarch,
02:50 called Michael's allegations insulting,
02:53 adding that the family is devastated
02:55 and is, of course, open to ending the conservatorship
02:58 if that's what Michael wants.
03:00 And in a statement to ET, the family's attorney claims
03:03 that prior to filing his petition in court,
03:06 Michael allegedly threatened the family
03:08 to fork over an eight-figure check
03:10 or he would plant a negative story about them in the press.
03:13 Despite all that, Sean Tui Jr., who goes by SJ,
03:17 told Barstool Sports Tuesday
03:19 that Michael will always be his brother.
03:22 - I love my kid. 16.
03:24 I love my kid now. He's, what, 16 and a half years old?
03:26 37. And I love him at 67.
03:29 - As for Sandra, she has not commented on the controversy,
03:32 which comes just after her longtime partner, Brian Randall,
03:36 died after a secret three-year battle with ALS.
03:39 And Quinton has one final message about the whole ordeal.
