A safari guide took out his phone to capture a selfie with an inquisitive cheetah after it jumped onto their vehicle to use it as a lookout spot. Samwel Kyashama, a guide in Tanzania National Parks for 20 years, told his group that, if quiet, a parked vehicle can act as a lookout point for the animals - something many didn’t believe. But on January 18, 2018, in Serengeti National Park, Samwel, of Safari Sauvage Tanzania, parked his vehicle next to a group of cheetahs to explain a little about the animals. And right on cue a cheetah hopped on the roof of the vehicle, before moving down the back to be closer to those on tour. Samwel revealed some of the visitors were scared, so he made his way past them towards the cheetah, trying to highlight that the animals were no threat if not disturbed. To make his point, the guide also took out his phone and recorded a wonderful selfie with the wild cheetah - an experience he said he’s had before but has never been able to film. Among the other guides in the national park, Samwel is known as "Cheetah Man" because of his understanding of the animals and various encounters with them. This particular experience lasted about an hour, Samwel said, before the group allowed the animal to jump down in its own time.
