00:00 Angelina Jolie's daughter will be by her side
00:03 for a major new project.
00:06 The Oscar winner has reportedly hired 15-year-old
00:08 Vivian Jolie-Pitt as her volunteer assistant
00:12 on the upcoming Broadway adaptation of "The Outsiders."
00:16 Angie is serving as a lead producer on the musical
00:19 and told multiple outlets in a statement
00:21 the heartwarming reason Vivian is a great match for the job,
00:25 saying, quote, "Viv reminds me of my mother
00:28 and that she isn't focused on being the center of attention
00:30 but in being a support to other creatives.
00:33 She's very thoughtful and serious about theater
00:35 and working hard to best understand how to contribute."
00:39 Angelina previously announced that she'd
00:41 joined "The Outsiders" Broadway team,
00:43 saying in a press release in August
00:45 that she feels, quote, "very fortunate to be
00:47 a part of this special production"
00:49 decades after discovering theater as her first love
00:52 as a performer, adding, quote, "I had not found my way back
00:55 until now."
00:57 She and Vivian reportedly met with "The Outsiders" novel
01:00 author S.E. Hinton after watching the musical's premiere
01:03 at La Jolla Playhouse earlier in 2023.
01:06 This isn't the first time Angie has
01:08 worked alongside her children.
01:09 Sons Maddox and Pax reportedly worked
01:12 in the assistant director department
01:13 on her upcoming film "Without Blood."
01:16 And the kids have found other ways
01:18 to collaborate with their famous mom.
01:20 Back in 2021, Angelina and her "Eternals" co-star Salma Hayek
01:24 shared with Access Hollywood how much
01:26 they enjoy seeing their respective children follow
01:29 in their fashionable footsteps, with Angie's daughter Zahara
01:33 upcycling her 2014 Oscars dress for the Marvel films premiere.
01:38 Zahara, you raid your closet a lot.
01:40 I feel like if my mom would have kept some of her clothes,
01:42 I'd be raiding her closet too.
01:43 But that's normal, right, for kids to go in there
01:45 and get the clothes?
01:46 Yeah, well, and also we talked--
01:49 this was-- I mean, I don't have those things in my closet.
01:51 We just had them somewhere in a box.
01:53 And I decided to pull some stuff out
01:55 because we were talking about upcycling and using things
02:00 and using things you already have.
02:01 And so we had those discussions in the house.
02:03 And so it was a fun idea of nobody's forced to,
02:06 but if you can find something that's already been made
02:08 that you like and that it's fun.
02:11 And then, of course, it was just to see her in it
02:14 and how gorgeous.
02:15 And when you-- it's also when you're a mom
02:17 and it's-- you pass it to-- it's their turn, right?
02:20 It's their turn.
02:21 And you say, oh, she looks so much better than I did.
02:24 It's time.
02:25 It's time.
02:26 And it's their time now.
02:28 So I was very excited.
02:30 You know, she just goes into my closet
02:33 instead of going into a store and just takes everything.
02:36 I do struggle sometimes finding my stuff.
02:38 I bet you have a very good closet at home.
02:40 At home, all my-- it's like black.
02:42 Mine's a very boring closet at home.
02:44 Yes, that's true.
02:46 But it's been changing lately.
02:48 To white?
02:49 To white.
02:51 To gray?
02:52 Yeah.
