There is inter-sectionalism in our society. What I mean is, every movement which is taking place in our nation should be integrated. A student’s movement should be integrated with women’s movement. A farmer’s movement should be integrated with women’s movement. Like the 4 pillars of democracy that works together. We should also bring together the 4 pillars (i.e. movements) and work together. We should create such cohesive atmosphere in our party, that people come to us, join us. We should create such comfortable atmosphere where women don’t hesitate to join into political discourse. We should create such political culture. Women have held prime positions in the govt. but on the same hand, there is a steady rise in the crimes against women. Mahatma Gandhi never left his wife for freedom movement, but our PM did.

00:00 We believe that in this present time,
00:05 there is no class of society
00:08 that needs to fight for itself and only on its own.
00:17 In the time we are in,
00:21 there is an intersectionality in every discourse.
00:27 Intersectionality means that
00:30 if we talk about security,
00:33 security is not only for a particular class of society,
00:36 it is needed for the whole society.
00:38 If we talk about poverty,
00:41 it is not only for a particular gender,
00:45 it is applicable to all genders.
00:48 And if we try to trace any kind of community in society,
00:55 we see an intersectionality in that.
00:59 That is why we believe that in this present time,
01:02 the movements that are taking place separately,
01:05 need to be brought together.
01:09 They need to be brought together.
01:11 Meaning, the movement of students,
01:15 the movement of students is there,
01:17 but it should also be the movement of women's rights.
01:22 The movement of farmers is there,
01:26 but it should also be the movement of women's rights.
01:30 In this country, whether it is the tribal movement,
01:33 Dalit movement, student movement,
01:36 farmer movement, labor movement,
01:40 any political party,
01:43 whatever the front is,
01:45 like if we talk about our party,
01:47 the Indian National Congress,
01:49 then we have the student front, NSY,
01:53 the youth front, Youth Congress,
01:56 the women's front, Women's Congress,
01:58 the farmer's front, Farmer's Congress.
02:01 We believe that all these fronts
02:04 should work together,
02:07 should work as one,
02:08 should work as a four pillars of democracy.
02:13 We should all work as one pillar.
02:16 We should work together.
02:18 That is why, when I am here with you today,
02:22 I have not come to give a speech.
02:25 In every action of yours,
02:28 we should work together, shoulder to shoulder,
02:31 both the front should work together.
02:34 And the challenges that are before the country,
02:37 which our National President also told about,
02:40 the National President of the Women's Congress,
02:42 Netaji also told,
02:43 our training program's Sachinji also told,
02:47 all the speakers who are coming,
02:49 who are telling us about the challenges in the present time,
02:53 in these challenges,
02:54 we need to work together.
02:57 And we should create an environment
03:01 within our party, within the organization,
03:03 so that people from all walks of society
03:06 can easily connect with us,
03:09 can come in between us.
03:11 Because if we talk about the student movement,
03:15 the women, the girls,
03:18 they are half-caste.
03:20 And if we do not give them proper space
03:26 in our meetings, in our organization's organization,
03:28 in our programs,
03:30 if we do not create a comfortable environment for them,
03:33 if we do not create such a political culture,
03:36 that they will be afraid, they will not come forward,
03:38 this means, as students,
03:42 as students' organization,
03:44 we are ignoring the half-caste of the society.
03:48 That is why, when I am talking to you,
03:51 I am insisting you,
03:52 that the students who are here,
03:56 who are connected with your organization,
03:58 you connect them with us,
04:01 and we will work with them,
04:03 and create a new kind of student movement in this country.
04:08 We will work to move a class of students forward.
04:11 As you all know,
04:13 that our party has just started a campaign,
04:17 that how to nurture the youth,
04:21 the women leaders.
04:24 For that, Indira Fellowship has been started.
04:27 We feel that our different kinds of front,
04:31 that front should work together,
04:33 should work together,
04:35 and we should be able to move this unity forward,
04:37 we should be able to create that comfortable environment,
04:40 where women are not afraid of coming to political events,
04:45 they should not be afraid,
04:46 we should establish such a political culture,
04:49 because the question today is very serious.
04:53 The serious question is,
04:55 that you need to look at some things very carefully and understand them.
04:59 It is not that,
05:01 that there is no female Prime Minister in our country,
05:04 there is no female President in our country,
05:07 there is no Speaker of the Lok Sabha in our country,
05:10 there is no Governor,
05:11 there is no Mayor,
05:12 there is no Chief Minister,
05:13 it is not like that.
05:15 So on one hand, women got representation,
05:19 but on the other hand,
05:20 if we talk about today,
05:22 then women have increased in the number of crimes.
05:26 We will have to understand this antiracism.
05:29 How is this happening?
05:31 If we look at the history of this country in detail,
05:34 then we will understand.
05:36 As our National President said,
05:38 that the countries which call themselves developed countries,
05:41 in those developed countries,
05:43 women and men did not get equal right to vote.
05:48 In America,
05:50 for one person, one vote,
05:52 a huge protest was carried out,
05:54 but this is the gift of our ancestors,
05:57 our founding mothers and fathers,
06:00 they made such a constitution,
06:02 that we got the right to vote with freedom.
06:05 You people should know this,
06:08 that we write and take the name of Dr. Bhabha Sahib Bhimrao Ambedkar,
06:13 he contributed to making this constitution,
06:16 but if you look at the constitution,
06:18 then 15 women were also members of that constitution,
06:22 who gave their views, their suggestions,
06:25 with which this constitution was made.
06:27 Those were 15 women,
06:29 and they were from different communities,
06:32 from different areas,
06:35 from different backgrounds,
06:36 they contributed.
06:38 If we look at the history of this country,
06:41 then you cannot forget the contribution of Mahatma Gandhi.
06:45 The most anti-colonial movement that happened in the whole world,
06:50 if a person did the work of uniting women with the movement,
06:54 then that person's name is Mahatma Gandhi.
06:57 And you see,
06:59 to make the country free,
07:02 to make the Britishers leave this country,
07:05 Mahatma Gandhi did not have to leave Kasturba Gandhi.
07:10 Did he have to leave?
07:11 He used to take Kasturba Gandhi with him.
07:14 And there is a current Prime Minister,
07:17 who says that he had to leave his wife to serve the country.
07:20 Oh, what a betrayal!
