Goofy – Goofy and Wilbur (1939) – original RKO titles

This is the original RKO Radio Pictures titles to the very first Goofy short, Goofy and Wilbur (1939). Unfortunately, we only get to see glimpses of the Goofy logo card fading in and out between the headshot and title card. This major splice is in the print itself, which is probably a copy from a 35mm original. Still, we can see that the “Walt Disney Presents Goofy” design is the same as it would look for many years. Also good to know is that the headshot is no different from the other Goofy shorts until late 1953. The title card was refilmed without alterations for the Buena Vista reissue we commonly see today. (Note: The soundtrack was almost worn out, so I’ve used the reissue sound here; it’s exactly the same.)
