00:00 Today we're at the fabulous Imperial Hotel in Blackpool to take a look at something that's
00:05 really quite special. It's the hotel's Turkish baths which have been painstakingly restored.
00:11 They were boarded up for decades but thanks to Blackpool Civic Trust they are once again
00:18 a proud piece of the hotel's and of course Blackpool's heritage. So we're going to have
00:23 a look.
00:24 It does feel like it's our little secret in the Imperial and it's always a thing we show
00:30 people last. So they've seen if we do take people unless the hotel they've seen all these
00:34 grand functionings. This feels like something that's just for us and yeah it makes every
00:39 member of the team that goes down there with our guests gets a super giddy waiting for
00:43 that reaction.
00:44 The Imperial is obviously a privately owned business but we very much know that we belong
00:49 to the community. You know we've been here since the beginning of Blackpool's tourism
00:53 and to show our part in the beginning of that story is something that we really are proud
00:58 of.
00:59 Blackpool Civic Trust, their painstaking work has been phenomenal hasn't it?
01:03 Unbelievable yeah the fortitude and the devotion to this project is just really really inspirational.
01:10 The Turkish bath isn't a huge space but when they're working in tiles this large and it's
01:14 taken a whole day to remove those yeah I'm not sure that I would have been able to keep
01:19 up with that for two years but we are just so grateful for their involvement because
01:23 Without that we wouldn't have this amazing piece of history to share with you all.
