00:00 Drifting is one of the oldest ways of saving money in Nigeria.
00:03 Bankly updated and created a technology solution by digitizing a job in local market,
00:08 hereby promoting financial inclusion and empowering the unbacked population.
00:13 This event is probably three, four, five months in the making.
00:21 There's been a lot of iterations on this event, on the app, and we're finally in the best place to show the world.
00:29 Really what the app can do.
00:31 So it's 2023 and it only makes a lot of sense that we have a platform like Bankly, which says
00:36 we're taking away all that risk and all that stress and mental hassle and it will make the
00:40 drift system aka a job to be a very easy system for you to use.
00:44 Do great. So that's okay, there's a platform like this, let me to come on to pass the payside.
00:48 And that's why I'm here.
00:49 People always need a platform where they can save money, invest, and they can and give them seamless
00:56 financial or basically seamless ways to transact.
00:59 It's an innovative brand and they have a lot of creative ideas and as a creative,
01:02 that is something I like to see, you know, in other spheres of life. So I'm excited to be here.
01:06 This is very impact driven and we went deep into research.
01:15 I remember before we launched and when we in 2018 when we're doing research,
01:21 we'll go into the local markets in Opal, we'll go into Adelkuta.
01:25 We really wanted to understand why we had 200 million people and whereby services such as
01:32 financial inclusion, which was the focus that could lift millions out of poverty,
01:37 was not getting to the extreme locations.
01:40 I love the group saving part, you know, before it's about payment and all of that,
01:44 but now it's supposed to something I preach, savings, and who knows,
01:48 someday the investment bank can come on board.
01:50 And because for the first time, I'm even getting interest on my savings.
01:53 It's amazing and then I have a community of interest.
01:56 I'm already seeing ways you can save to get on the app, so I'm so excited about this.
02:00 Oh, it's so beautiful to see that, you know, most of the things are now digitalized and,
02:05 you know, it's just so humbling to be a part of this process.
02:07 A lot of our features are personalized and customized to our users' needs.
02:17 It's a breath of fresh air to know that Bankly has innovated on that
02:22 existing ideology and transformed it into something very easy to use, safe and transparent.
02:27 It's quite simple. The concept we've built is to start to follow the experience,
02:30 what we expect the user to be and what we expect the user to do,
02:34 and we'll build a system that works around that to make it quite easy for the user to just walk
02:38 through and do whatever he needs to do, transactions or whatever,
02:42 in the easiest possible form that he can have.
02:44 It's transparent. I'm not afraid that whoever is coordinating it will run away with the money
02:49 or it will disappear. Every time I contribute, every other person in the group gets an alert.
02:55 So it's very transparent, it's very smooth, it's very seamless,
02:59 and really that's what it's about at Bankly. It's just thinking about everyday people and
03:06 what they have to do in their day-to-day life and how we can key into that and make it problem-free.
03:11 It's nice and smooth. It's been a journey,
03:17 and I'm happy to be able to show the world what we've been working on, and that's amazing.
03:22 You know what they say, save money so money can save you. As Nigerians, we already go through
03:27 so much and having seamless transactions shouldn't be one of them.
03:31 My name is Lois Okuniyi for Guardian TV. Bye for now.
