00:00 I mean, I can't complain about this out here.
00:02 >> [LAUGH] >> Gorgeous weather, gorgeous weather.
00:05 >> Sorry.
00:06 >> Do you want me to hold that?
00:07 >> No, no, thank you.
00:08 I appreciate it, though.
00:09 >> Appreciate you.
00:10 >> Sorry.
00:12 >> Pete, we all saw LaVe have a just outstanding rookie year, right?
00:18 >> Yes.
00:18 >> It looks like he's taking it to a just completely different level right now.
00:23 What do you think has changed for him?
00:25 What goes, how do you make it a big jump in your team?
00:27 >> I truly believe it's his mentality every single day.
00:30 He comes in and attacks it.
00:32 He wants to get better not only on the field, but in the film room as well.
00:35 He's constantly getting anything that he can from our receivers coach KB and
00:39 absorbing it like a sponge and then going out there and performing.
00:41 So you constantly see his work ethic every single day out there on that field.
00:45 And I'm truly grateful to even be in the room with him because it only motivates
00:48 guys like me, guys like Mike, and everyone else in the room to just be better.
00:52 So it's kind of like Chris has been a vet since he first walked into this building.
00:56 So I'm truly grateful to be a guy to be around him and learn from him as well.
01:01 >> One of the things that like Derrick said is just impressive that he's always
01:04 like in the right spot.
01:05 >> Yeah. >> Like if he just knows where to be.
01:07 >> Yeah. >> How hard is that to just like kind of
01:09 just always be on the same page?
01:11 >> Yeah. >> Pick up the same thing.
01:13 >> Yeah, it's tough.
01:14 It's tough to always kind of build that relationship.
01:16 But the thing which you see from Derek and
01:18 you see from Chris is every single day after practice.
01:20 If they miss the route in practice, they're getting it after practice to make
01:23 sure that they're on the same page.
01:25 And then you ultimately see that the next day.
01:27 And I mean, it's constantly I make them pleased.
01:28 But that's not nothing from anything spectacular.
01:31 It's the work that they put in every single day.
01:33 So it's great to just see it come to life.
01:34 >> Keith, working in the preseason with Derrick, just seeing him in his mode,
01:40 in the bench chiefs.
01:41 What kind of some of your takeaways, impressions from that?
01:45 >> Man, his poise.
01:46 Just the way he is in the huddle.
01:48 He's so calm, cool, and collective.
01:50 Like he literally has so much fun out there while he's on the field.
01:52 And it kind of motivates everybody out there that's with him in that huddle.
01:56 So you can just kind of see how he was able to just push the ball up the field
01:59 with no hesitation.
02:01 He's just such a great guy to be around.
02:03 He's a motivator and someone I think, someone that can lead us in the right
02:07 direction.
02:08 So I'm super happy for him and what he has displayed against the Chiefs.
02:11 >> One of the things you said is just everybody working kind of together.
02:13 And then obviously you get the payoff from the touchdown and stuff.
02:16 Just speak to the volumes of the wide seat room and
02:18 just kind of where everybody's at in the team mentality.
02:20 >> Yeah, it's just our work ethic.
02:23 We trust one another.
02:24 We're out there going to battle.
02:25 It's 11 guys on one field, all trying to achieve the same goal.
02:29 And if we all do our job, ultimately you'll see great plays happen.
02:32 So I think that happened on Sunday against the Chiefs.
02:35 And it'll continue to happen with this group.
02:37 So I'm super excited for what we have to offer this season.
02:39 [BLANK_AUDIO]
02:41 >> Has the wide receiver room been able to take advantage of kind of being
02:45 together here a little bit more?
02:47 >> Yeah, 100%, it's great.
02:48 Cuz DA gives us some time after meetings to kind of get together,
02:52 fellowship, kind of learn where each of us come from.
02:56 And just to bond, that's what's big, being able to know where someone's came from.
03:00 Cuz when you're on that field, you kind of know the story of the background of each
03:04 player that you're playing with.
03:04 And it kind of gives you that extra edge to go harder.
03:06 So I'm super grateful to just be in this opportunity to be with this team.
03:10 So I'm super excited to see what we have to offer this year.
03:13 >> That's awesome, thank you.
03:13 >> Thank you, man.
