When someone with a nine-year history of viewing epic meteor showers goes on to hail a recent event as the 'BEST meteor shower I've ever seen,' you know it has to be a surreal sight!
This enthralling timelapse captures the Perseid Meteor Shower of 2023 in all its glory.
With massive meteors streaking across the gorgeous, star-laden night sky, it's understandable why witnessing such a spectacle is on so many people's bucket lists.
"On Saturday, August 12, my friend and I traveled through the rocky forest roads to a lake, which she said would be a great place to view the Perseid Meteor Shower," the filmer, Marion Williams, shared with WooGlobe. "We drove through the forest roads, which required a high clearance vehicle, and hiked through the trails under starlight to find a couple of granite boulders hanging on the side of the lake.
"I started the timelapse at 10:30 PM, sat on the boulder with my friend, and observed the cosmic event for hours. I've never seen so many meteors on a night like this; the moon was just a mere crescent at the time!
"Some meteors looked as if they were CGI, almost fake, but I knew this was something that everyone should experience one day; it was a recharge on life."
