00:00 Tyler Boyd, the vet in the wide receiver room.
00:03 How is it going so far here in training camp for you?
00:05 And how much are you enjoying your relationship
00:08 evolving with Jamar and T?
00:10 Man, I think it's great just to be a vet
00:15 and just knowing my role and responsibility in terms
00:18 of going out there, polishing up my craft,
00:21 and just being a leader to the younger guys,
00:23 trying to get them guys fluid, get them guys going,
00:26 and just put good stuff on tape.
00:27 Because it's starting to get to that time where
00:31 things are going to change in the next couple of weeks.
00:33 And if they're not a part of this,
00:34 then hopefully I want them to be a part of something else.
00:38 It's just more of a family thing.
00:40 It just grows and grows.
00:41 Like T said the other day, we're a family.
00:43 We're real brothers.
00:44 That's how we look at it.
00:45 So as long as we got each other, then we're good.
00:48 I noticed that he said that you guys are kind of like you
00:50 have the same mama.
00:51 That's how you guys act.
00:53 How many times in a day do you guys talk?
00:58 I mean, almost every day.
00:59 It's kind of like when you're kids and you're on field trips,
01:02 them the guys I'm going to mess with.
01:04 That's the guys I'm going to talk to about anything.
01:06 And just everything's revolve around our group.
01:10 Because we spend so much time together.
01:12 And it's just pure.
01:15 It's genuine.
01:15 And I think that's where we come from.
01:17 We always care for one another.
01:19 Have you ever experienced that type of closeness
01:23 and relationships with the guys you're working with ever
01:26 before those two came in?
01:28 Yeah.
01:29 I mean, you build those relationships with those guys
01:31 closest to you.
01:33 It could be anywhere.
01:34 Even in the workspace, if you're not playing ball,
01:35 if you're out in construction, you got your main buddies.
01:38 And you're going to continue to probably talk to them
01:40 outside of work and do things with them outside of work.
01:43 Because I built a relationship with a ton of guys
01:45 before they even got to the league.
01:47 Like AJ, Alex Harrison, all the guys
01:49 that came when I was a rookie.
01:50 And it's just the chemistry and the relationship
01:53 may not be as tight.
01:54 Because I'm not around them anymore.
01:56 That doesn't mean that we're still not buddies.
01:58 We're still not cool and so forth.
01:59 But it's just special with these guys.
02:02 Because we're the most dominant group I've ever been a part of.
02:06 So I think that's the difference between our unit.
02:10 How fun is that for you to be the most dominant group
02:13 that you've ever experienced in your career?
02:15 I think it's fun, first and foremost.
02:17 Because it makes it more challenging for us.
02:20 Because every team, every good player around the league
02:23 look at us and circle us on the calendar.
02:26 Because a lot of guys look at it like, if we stop these guys,
02:28 then we're somebody.
02:29 We're a high caliber player.
02:32 So we embrace that.
02:33 And we love to compete.
02:34 And we love to go out there every week
02:36 and show guys that we're really the top unit.
02:39 But at the end of the day, we pride ourselves on just working
02:42 and just staying together.
02:43 Do you like almost having a target on your back in a way?
02:48 Yes.
02:49 Because basically where I came from,
02:50 I kind of really had that.
02:51 My high school was super small.
02:53 I won almost every game I ever played.
02:55 And every team I ever came across,
02:56 every team wanted to beat us.
02:58 And just the whole journey, that was me.
03:02 And now that we're officially the target of wanting to beat us,
03:06 I embrace that.
03:07 I'm comfortable in that position.
03:09 Because I know what to do to maintain that.
03:12 And Andre Yoshibash-- Yoshibas.
03:18 I know it gets called Yoshi a lot.
03:20 What have you seen from him that has stood out
03:23 to you as a receiver?
03:25 Good luck, bro.
03:26 First and foremost, just his size, his speed,
03:29 his body control.
03:31 To be a great receiver, you've got to have the tangibles,
03:34 first and foremost.
03:35 Not to say that a smaller guy can't be a dominant receiver.
03:37 But on paper, he's what you want.
03:40 And just without being said, just his ability
03:43 to go up and make plays and go get the ball.
03:45 I think that's his strongest attribute.
03:47 Because he's out physical with the guy and go up.
03:50 But for me, I ain't going to just say with him,
03:53 but for all the young guys, they learn quick.
03:55 I think they came in and they know it off the bat.
03:58 I know they had a little extra meeting time and stuff
04:01 like that.
04:02 And Troy, he does a great job of getting all of us right.
04:05 But I think the most important thing for him
04:08 was just coming in confident, knowing who he is.
04:12 Last question for you.
04:13 How much does practice have to change
04:15 when Joe Burrow is not practicing with you
04:18 guys in under center?
04:19 Do you try to keep it the same as if it would be, Joe?
04:22 Obviously, it's different.
04:23 But do you try to keep it the same?
04:26 Yeah.
04:27 For me, I try to keep our unit strong and relaxed as possible.
04:32 Because without nine, I think that's
04:34 when the pressure comes in.
04:35 And we all want to go out there like, man, look,
04:37 we might not get too many opportunities.
04:39 Or they might not be on point as if nine was in there.
04:41 So when we do get the ball, we got to go get this.
04:44 We got to go do this.
04:45 We got to go make a play out of nothing.
04:46 So I try to do a good job with myself
04:48 of not really trying to overdo it
04:49 and keep them sane to just go out there and play the game.
04:53 Because at the end of the day, the quarterback position
04:55 is taught the same as it is to teach Joe Burrow.
04:58 They're going to know the checks and calls
05:00 and get us in the plays to where he
05:01 knows we can be successful.
05:03 But at the end of the day, we got to play football.
05:06 We have to be the guys because we're
05:09 the engine of the offense.
05:10 And without us, I mean, the car ain't going to go.
05:14 Very last question for you.
05:15 It seems like this locker room has a chip on its shoulder.
05:18 You want that Super Bowl ring, it seems like.
05:20 Is that true?
05:22 Absolutely.
05:23 Yes, absolutely.
05:24 I thought it was.
05:25 I mean, we got to go.
05:28 Like I said, you might not know how the locker room will
05:30 look next year.
05:31 I think this is the strongest and the best team
05:32 that I've ever been on out of my whole--
05:34 this is my eighth year, my whole eight years.
05:36 So this is probably the most confident I've ever been.
05:38 I know I said it year in, year out.
05:40 I mean, every player is going to say that about their team.
05:43 But I mean, we've proven that to the world.
05:45 We went to play in the big games, and we got to the show.
05:48 So now we just got to win it.
05:50 Tyler, thank you.
