North Korea may attempt new spy satellite launch soon

North Korea informs Japan of its intention to launch a satellite, possibly another attempt to deploy a military spy satellite, after the failure of its previous launch in May. The failed launch hindered North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's goal of creating a space-based surveillance system for monitoring the US and South Korea. The new launch is expected to take place between August 24 and August 30, with details about the satellite type similar to the one used in the previous attempt.
