00:03 We all felt bejeweled this summer
00:18 as Taylor Swift's Eros tour took over North America.
00:22 That's right.
00:23 And this was just the beginning as Taylor
00:25 is taking the three-hour show international next year.
00:28 All right, so to celebrate Taylor's global icon status--
00:32 I can say that, right?
00:33 Yes, you can.
00:34 We are looking back into the E-Vault
00:35 at some of our favorite moments with the pop star.
00:39 Let's kick things off back in 2008, OK,
00:42 when we were with Taylor when she
00:43 got the news about being nominated for her very
00:46 first Grammy Award.
00:48 I was up there, and they started calling off
00:50 the names for best new artist.
00:51 And I'm like, oh, I'm not going to be in this category.
00:54 Look at all these people that are just amazing.
00:57 And I'm freaking out.
00:59 I really didn't think that was going to happen--
01:01 legitimately didn't think it was going to happen.
01:03 So when you get surprised like that, I mean,
01:06 I was about to cry.
01:08 Well, Taylor didn't take home the Grammy that year,
01:11 but she sure made up for the lost time,
01:13 as she has won, guys, 12 Grammys.
01:16 12?
01:17 Since then, yeah, 12.
01:18 Well, in 2014, we also talked to her
01:21 about her friendship with longtime friend,
01:23 Selena Gomez.
01:25 It's been the longest one I think either of us
01:27 have had, really.
01:28 You know, when your life changes,
01:30 and you become thrust into this really strange whirlwind
01:35 where what your life is is different from what other
01:37 people think your life is, and your life is commented on,
01:40 and your life is written about, and it's
01:42 fictionalized, and all that.
01:43 Both of us have kind of stuck it out and hung in there
01:46 through all the different changes we've gone through.
01:48 And I think that's--
01:49 you know, longevity is something you really
01:51 can find very precious and rare in friendships.
01:55 At the album release party for her red album,
01:58 she told us about writing songs about her life.
02:02 I think for me, it's a wonderful feeling
02:04 to finally get to tell my fans the real stories of how
02:08 things affected me.
02:09 And you know, they'll take from it what they will.
02:11 And maybe they think about their ex-boyfriend
02:13 when they're listening to it.
02:14 Maybe they think about, I don't know,
02:16 wondering who I wrote about.
02:18 It's just sort of like whatever they want it to be,
02:20 it ends up being.
02:22 Now, let's go all the way back to the beginning
02:25 when Taylor recalled her first break to E! News.
02:28 When I was 11, I went to Nashville
02:31 with this little karaoke demo CD and went
02:34 to all the record labels and had my mom park the car outside
02:37 the labels.
02:38 And I was like, go into the labels.
02:39 And be like, hi, I'm Taylor.
02:41 I'm 11.
02:42 I want a record deal.
02:42 Just call me.
02:44 And you know, that didn't work.
02:45 But what it did do was it let me realize
02:47 that I needed to be different.
02:49 And I needed to write my own songs.
02:50 I needed to play my own instrument.
02:51 And so that's what I spent the next couple of years doing.
02:54 And I got my break when I was signed as a songwriter
02:57 in Nashville when I was 14.
03:00 Still waiting for my big break.
03:01 We're waiting.
03:03 Well, in that same interview, Tay also
03:04 mentioned just how much her fans mean to her.
03:08 The best compliment I've ever gotten
03:10 is when people call me a role model for their six-year-old
03:12 girl or their 10-year-old little girl.
03:16 And when I do these signing lines every night
03:17 and I see these just beautiful little girls,
03:20 and it's like, OK, every time I have a decision to make,
03:23 I think about that.
03:25 And I think about them standing in line
03:26 for hours to get my autograph.
03:28 It's like, I don't want to let them down.
03:29 Fans are everything to me.
03:32 And 15 years later, Taylor's fans
03:35 still are everything to her.
03:36 Yep, they love her right back and are counting down
03:39 the days until 1989, Taylor's version,
03:43 which is released on October 27.
03:45 We are so here for Taylor-mania.
