00:05 to Mediterranean ports.
00:06 NBC News correspondent Robert Garowski reports by satellite.
00:10 - This is the USS Liberty,
00:13 the Navy ship that was strafed and torpedoed Thursday
00:16 by Israeli patrol torpedo boats and Israeli war planes.
00:20 She's been steaming along at eight knots
00:26 since she was attacked
00:27 in the accidental episode of yesterday.
00:29 She has now been joined by the sixth fleet,
00:31 which has been steaming to her assistance.
00:34 All day today aboard the USS America,
00:37 helicopters have been taking off and landing
00:38 after bringing back some of the hundreds of men
00:40 who were injured in yesterday's attack.
00:44 The helicopters first took aboard the most severely wounded,
00:47 now taking aboard those who were able to walk aboard ship.
00:50 They will eventually be taking
00:51 to the European mainland for treatment.
00:53 It's near as impossible to assess the damage
