00:00 Hello, my name is Sean Gleaves and I'm a live reporter for the Blackpool Gazette and Lancashire Post.
00:04 NHS figures show that hundreds of children across the county are getting teeth extracted,
00:09 so I went out and about to see what residents thought this was. This is what they said.
00:13 Too much sugar in the diet. Simple as that.
00:16 Lack of NHS dentists. That's about it really. It's a big thing, isn't it?
00:27 I know because the parents give them money to go to the shop to buy their own sweeties.
00:30 I saw a programme on it once and it disgusted me really.
00:34 To let your baby start off with no teeth. They've got their teeth for two minutes and they're getting rich out of it.
00:42 And then one programme that I actually saw, the mum, after they'd had the surgery and the teeth out,
00:47 was allowed to carry on as they had been doing. So the next day the teeth were gone.
00:52 It's too much when you're putting decay on the teeth.
00:58 I know I'm one of them. I just started, 0%, all that, just got off it. That's about it really for me.
01:11 Kids nowadays, it's like my mum's like cannabis in that they do.
01:17 Fags, anything like that really. That's why they're getting their teeth extracted.
01:24 It grows moulds, cavities and all that and then you have to remove them out.
01:28 You turn out to be like, some are teeth, some are black and some are yellow.
01:32 Why do you think so many children in Lancashire are having their teeth extracted?
