World’s Fastest Porsche Hits 227MPH | RIDICULOUS RIDES
For 15 years, BBI Autosport have been the experts in high-end, off-the-market tuning. But one of their most recent projects on a Porsche 911 GT2 RS seems to have stood out from the rest. Although this model is already Porsche’s most powerful car, BBI has expanded its capability even further by transforming one from a sleek sports car into a swift supercar. With specialist customisation, they pushed the car to reach speeds of 227mph, making it the fastest 911 in the world. Owner of BBI Betim Berisha told BTV: “We take this beautiful canvas that Porsche gives us and we tailor it to a client’s need or specific goal that we’re after. I don’t think we have ever built a car that made you actually feel this comfortable doing something so wrong. If I had to describe this Porsche in three words, I would say it’s visceral, raw and powerful.” Starting with the factory model, BBI upgraded the classic 911 with a custom engine, larger turbos and an advanced cooling system. Dmitriy Orlov, who works at the company said: “This car has bigger turbochargers, more intercooler, better calibration, a water-methanol injection system, better chassis to handle the high speed – and of course on Michelin tyres because they are just proven to be phenomenal at any speed and power level. There is also a lot of work on the interior. There are raised seats and harnesses to ensure that the car is safe.” To buy from the showroom, the Porsche 911 GT2 RS typically sells for around $350,000 – but with this level of modification, this car would cost closer to half a million dollars.

01:14 It's a little lower, it's got slightly different wheels, it's got some interior removed.
01:20 It has a hell of a lot more horsepower. It's deadly, but fast, unassuming, and actually you can go get your groceries in it.
01:27 A pretty impressive daily driver, but it's on the track where this car is truly at home.
01:34 The airstrip is awesome because you're in a controlled environment.
01:38 You can choose to run by yourself or next to somebody who's 40 or 50 feet away from you.
01:41 You're really hyper-focused on how the engine feels.
01:43 And come back, talk to the crew, they end up looking at all the data.
01:47 We can take that and apply that to the next time we go back.
01:49 We've done a lot of these half-miles, we did learn a lot there.
01:52 About thermal management, learning about tuning, turbo shaft speed, and efficiency ranges.
01:56 Being out there, to me, feels more like a tool that allows you to focus and hone, rather than this white-knuckling,

02:30 It shows that when you put everything together in a package, you have this OEM-plus feel of a vehicle

02:42 The fastest we've gone in this car is 227 miles an hour.
02:49 We did some quick math, it's geared to 242, and we can raise the rev limiter a little bit.
02:55 Maybe with a long enough road, we could go 245.
02:59 This car has bigger turbochargers, more intercooler, better calibration,

03:14 and of course running the Michelin tires, because they've just proven to be phenomenal at any speed and power level.
03:20 There's also a lot of work on the interior, the race seats and harnesses to ensure that the car is safe.
03:26 Modifying vehicles at this level takes years of experience, and the latest technology.
03:35 In cars like these, fueling could be an issue, so we need to add secondary fueling.
03:39 So we'll take the factory manifold, this plastic piece, here, detail here, scan the manifold, scan the engine bay,
03:44 and come up with this aluminum 3D printed piece.
03:48 This technology, along with the reverse engineering methods, allows us to create stronger, better components.
03:54 If we're going to 3D print it, you get a lot of creativity in manufacturing,
03:58 so we ended up coming up with this little design, making it so that you don't get that buffet inside the car.
04:03 Just anything to redirect that airflow down six or seven inches back there, it just got it closer to the air scoop.
04:09 And a transformation like this doesn't come cheap.
04:13 The price of a GT2 RS is $350,000.
04:18 With all the work and development that we've done, it probably makes it close to the half million mark.
04:31 The hardest part about going that fast is keeping your right foot on the accelerator.
04:36 Everything in your body tells you, "Okay, this is enough."
04:42 The wind, the noise, the way that the chassis is talking to the ground.
04:47 After about 200 miles an hour, the car will start to kind of pick a lane.
04:53 You sit there and the car settles into itself really well.
