00:00 the old Wembley.
00:01 - Whoa.
00:02 - Whoa, yeah, I went to RevPro's anniversary show
00:04 last night, which was a wonderful show,
00:06 but there was a shocking conclusion, Jack Atkins.
00:09 - And we were got hook, line, and sinker, weren't we?
00:11 - Yeah, we were got, because Will Ospreay,
00:13 after having his main event match against Shingo Takagi,
00:16 answered a challenge from Zack Sabre Jr.
00:18 to set up a future match,
00:19 which we'll talk about in a second,
00:20 but then he cut a very heartfelt promo,
00:22 and I turned to you and went,
00:23 oh, we suspected that something might happen,
00:25 and then I went, I think that's just the show.
00:27 It was just a real emotional promo,
00:29 and it seemed like it was a fitting end
00:31 to a lovely night of wrestling.
00:32 Then what happened, Jack?
00:33 - Then Jack King spotted a rogue luchador in the crowd
00:36 and went, who's that there?
00:38 Who's that mysterious grappler?
00:40 And who was it, Jack? - Look, boys.
00:41 It was Chris Jericho, who came out of the crowd,
00:44 mask on, it was very similar to what he did
00:47 at the original All In.
00:48 He jumped in the ring, still hadn't unmasked yet,
00:50 but we knew it was him, hit the code breaker,
00:52 and the crowd went, oh, hey!
00:54 He unmasked, it was Chris Jericho,
00:56 and then he left through the crowd, which was a brave move.
00:58 - Yeah, he was chased off by Ozzy Open as well.
01:00 - He got mobbed.
01:00 Oh yeah, Ozzy Open came out late,
01:02 'cause Jericho had battered Osprey by this point.
01:04 Hit him with a chair shot to the head,
01:06 but it looked like a glancing blow,
01:07 like a worked chair shot, hopefully, anyway.
01:10 And yeah, it was an exciting end
01:12 to a great night of wrestling, and it sets up nicely.
01:14 We were saying afterwards, we agreed,
01:16 this has made us all more excited
01:17 for that Jericho-Osprey match.
01:18 - Yeah, 'cause I think going in at first,
01:20 people were going, mm, it'll be a good match,
01:22 but one of them, then they had the promo on Dynamite,
01:25 which is very good, but yeah,
01:26 coming out of that last night,
01:27 people were like, come on, come on, Will, do it for Blighty.
01:30 (laughing)
01:32 - Also, I mentioned that Zack Sabre Jr. challenge,
01:34 so before all this Jericho stuff kicked off,
01:36 Zack Sabre Jr. came out and said to Osprey, basically,
01:39 oh, what a big night for British wrestling,
01:41 but I think I've got my eye on your IWGP UK Championship,
01:46 and I think we should have a match for it at Royal Quest.
01:48 - Yes.
01:49 - Which is a nice New Japan main event for an English show.
01:53 - Yeah, and we were there in the arena last night,
01:56 great venue for it, very hot crowd,
01:59 and obviously, if you've got the two top stars
02:00 of the UK scene going for it,
02:02 that could be an absolute banger, as the kids like to say.
02:05 - Zack Sabre Jr. successfully defended
02:07 his NJPW TV Championship on that show as well last night,
02:12 defeating RKJ, Ricky Knight Jr.
02:15 in one of the highlight matches of the night, actually.
02:16 - Yeah.
02:17 - Yes, also check out Ishii's match
02:19 with Northwest Strong, Luke Jacobs,
02:21 'cause that was an excellent match as well.
02:22 - It was just two big boys having a whale of a time
02:26 hitting each other in the face very hard.
02:27 - Yes, very good show.
02:29 It wasn't the only noteworthy show, though, of yesterday.
02:32 There was also a big progress show
02:33 at the Electric Ballroom in Camden.
02:34 I think it's probably worth mentioning it now, actually,
02:36 that Eddie Kingston has been announced
02:38 for an upcoming progress show around sort of Halloween.
02:41 It's a Halloween-themed show.
02:42 I think it's on the 22nd of October.
02:44 It's not Halloween itself, but it's late October.
02:47 I was saying to you,
02:48 I wonder what this means for Eddie Kingston,
02:50 because on one hand, it seems good
02:52 that he's being chosen for these other promotions,
02:54 these appearances, you called it the Moxley role.
02:55 - Yeah.
02:56 - That's a good thing?
02:57 - Yeah, I think so, yeah.
02:58 Everyone likes Eddie.
02:59 He's organically gotten over wherever he's going.
03:01 He's getting a reaction.
03:02 As we saw with his run in New Japan,
03:04 he looks like he's having the time of his life.
03:05 - Yes.
03:06 - So yeah, I'm calling it the Moxley run
03:08 of he's just like, "I wanna wrestle there,"
03:09 and they're just like, "Go for it."
03:10 - And they go for it.
03:11 It shows that, yeah, that's true.
03:12 On one hand, it shows that he's got a lot of freedom,
03:14 potentially, to do what he wants.
03:14 I took it in a more negative way.
03:16 I thought, "Oh, does this mean he's not central
03:18 to Tony Khan's plans?"
03:20 Still not central to Tony Khan's plans,
03:21 because I think to me and to many AEW fans,
03:24 it's almost baffling that Eddie Kingston
03:26 hasn't continued to feature centrally
03:28 because he is maybe the most believable wrestler
03:32 in the world.
03:33 - Possibly, yeah, but I mean, going into All In,
03:34 he's in one of the featured marquee matches,
03:37 and where we think that's gonna lead,
03:39 going into All Out, could lead to a bigger role for him.
03:42 Again, who knows?
03:43 - That's a very good point, actually, as well.
03:44 Speaking of All In, obviously, that is tonight.
03:45 I hope that we can flash up a photo on screen
03:47 that has emerged of what it looks like
03:49 inside the stadium currently.
03:51 You can't see too much of the set design
03:52 and stuff like that,
03:53 but obviously you get a sense of the scale of it,
03:55 and they've got kind of the, how do I describe it,
03:57 the roof contraption over the ring.
03:59 - Yeah, well, we got caught in a literal
04:01 thunder and lightning storm yesterday.
04:03 It's quite sunny now.
04:04 It says it's gonna rain a bit,
04:06 and it's London in August.
04:09 You never know what's gonna happen.
04:10 - It's a sensible decision from the AEW guys.
04:13 Yeah, light beams were coming out of the sky.
04:15 It was a scary time.
04:16 - Yeah.
04:18 - Also, we've got an update on Chris Statlander,
04:20 because her challenger for All Out,
04:22 as you mentioned, All Out,
04:24 was announced on Collision last night.
04:26 It's gonna be Ruby Soho.
04:28 Bit of a letdown in terms of how the match was arrived at.
04:31 Basically, Ruby Soho was in a backstage interview
04:34 throughout a challenge
04:34 for Chris Statlander's TBS Championship.
04:36 Later in the show, Chris Statlander
04:37 was in a backstage interview and said,
04:39 "All right, yeah, have a fight.
04:41 "It's wrestling."
04:42 - Yeah, have a big fight.
04:43 I think the TBS title,
04:45 I don't wanna say it's cooled down
04:46 since Statlander's gotten it,
04:48 but they're not featuring it as much as they did
04:50 when Jay Cargill had it.
04:51 - Yeah, it certainly feels that way.
04:52 - And obviously, All Out,
04:54 obviously, we've got a week till All Out.
04:55 They've gotta build that card,
04:56 but potentially no Statlander at all in.
04:59 - Yes, it's been noticed by users
05:02 of the Squared Circle subreddit
05:03 and also from Statlander's social media activity herself.
05:06 It very much seems as though she is not here in London
05:08 and is not, or at least is not competing on the card,
05:11 which would mean, if that's true,
05:12 and she also did a tweet recently saying,
05:14 or an ex, saying basically,
05:17 "Good luck to my boys in London,"
05:18 and it was the match featuring the best friends
05:20 in Orange Cassidy.
05:22 But it seems as though, by her not being on the card,
05:25 there is only gonna be one match
05:27 on AEW's biggest show ever,
05:28 which is not a great look for Toni Conn.
05:30 - Yeah, I mean, AEW have been criticized
05:33 with past pay-per-views of getting too many people
05:35 on the card, putting too many matches in,
05:36 but this is one where it feels like,
05:38 especially some of the wrestlers in more longevity,
05:40 like I was thinking Niall Arrose, The Bunny,
05:42 Penelope Ford, Chris Statlander.
05:45 You think there'd be a spot for them to be like,
05:47 "Thanks for all you've done, it is the biggest show ever.
05:49 Go do your thing."
05:50 But we have, while we've been in Wembley the last few days,
05:53 we have seen some AEW stars milling around
05:56 who aren't announced for the card.
05:58 - Thunder Rosa was in the tube station.
05:59 - Yeah.
06:00 - Miro was there.
06:01 - Yeah. - Yeah, that is true.
06:02 There are people here who aren't yet announced for the card.
06:03 So we could be speaking far too soon,
06:05 although the card's looking pretty full,
06:07 so they're gonna have to squeeze stuff in.
06:09 And we're gonna end on sad news, unfortunately,
06:11 with the news of the passing of Bob Bok,
06:14 a legendary American TV host,
06:16 and in many people's eyes,
06:17 the best raw celebrity GM of that era.
06:20 - Yeah, it seemed to be the people like Bob Barker,
06:22 Betty White, people who were just like,
06:24 "Oh, they're the nation's nan and granddad."
06:27 - Yeah, right, yeah.
06:28 - Yeah, 99 years old.
06:30 - Yes, yeah, fair play.
06:31 I mean, it's very sad news, obviously,
06:32 but a great legacy to leave behind.
06:34 He was the host of "The Price is Right."
06:36 British people may be knowing more
06:38 just from the cameo on "Happy Gilmore."
06:39 - Battering "Happy Gilmore," yeah.
06:40 - Yes.
06:42 Fantastic, seems like a really, really funny guy.
06:44 And it seemed like, I think the reason
06:45 a lot of people liked him as the raw GM
06:46 was because he kind of just went with it and had a laugh.
06:49 - Yeah.
06:50 - And he wasn't in any way pretentious
06:52 or taking it too seriously.
06:53 - Yeah, 'cause some people were looking down the nose at it,
06:56 just like, "Oh, I can't believe we've got this gig."
06:57 Other people were just like,
06:58 "Oh, we've got to try a bit too hard and Summerfest."
07:00 And Bob Barker was like, "It's gonna be Bob Barker."
07:02 - Yeah, that is true.
07:03 And also, of course, had crosswords with Chris Jericho,
07:05 which brings us nicely around to AW All-In tonight.
07:08 Pierce did that behind the camera.
07:09 Does that mean we need one more minute,
07:10 or we've got one minute left?
07:12 One more minute, Jack Atkins.
07:14 What match are you most looking forward to?
07:16 How seamless was that?
07:17 What match are you most looking forward to on tonight's show?
07:20 - I mean, my heart is saying Samoa Joe versus CM Punk,
07:23 because I'm a big CM Punk and an even bigger Samoa Joe fan.
07:27 I think FTR Youngbox is gonna be the one, I guess,
07:30 me going, "Whoa."
07:31 - Oh, I can't decide.
07:33 I think, I was saying this last night
07:34 to those lovely German guys that we met on this very street.
07:38 They were saying, "Which match are you guys
07:39 "most looking forward to?"
07:39 And I said, "Depending on how tired everybody is
07:42 "by the end of a mammoth show."
07:44 I think I'm still looking forward most to the main event,
07:46 just to see what on earth happens.
07:48 - Yeah, it's least predictable,
07:50 but also I think maybe the most predictable?
07:53 - Oh, no, I think it's the least predictable.
07:55 Wait, oh.
07:56 - Oh. - Oh.
07:56 - Oh. - Oh.
07:57 - Thanks, Pierce.
07:58 Thanks, everybody, for watching.
08:00 And we'll be back with another news video later on today.
08:02 Leave your thoughts and opinions
