00:00 I have no idea. Anything is possible now.
00:03 There are a lot of shows on GMA.
00:06 Yes.
00:07 It's nothing wrong as entertainment.
00:08 What if I get an R-rated 9?
00:11 [Laughter]
00:27 Albert, what is your plan for tonight's show?
00:31 If you're going to promote this concert,
00:34 where will you promote it?
00:36 Will you promote it in the showtime, at the Ipulaga, or at the new gate?
00:41 I'm friends with all of them.
00:43 I've been in the industry for four decades.
00:47 So, I'm close to Dito Joey,
00:51 to Pablo Cortes,
00:54 to Yomi, I've known him for a long time from that spot.
00:58 So, I don't see anything.
01:01 Nothing.
01:02 I mean, the fans can make a rivalry out of it.
01:05 It's just like choosing your favorite team in the PBA, for example.
01:10 It's nothing personal.
01:12 Not at all.
01:13 It shouldn't be connected to your...
01:16 It's not personal.
01:17 It's just that you would be for one team,
01:19 the other person would be for one team.
01:21 It's the difference.
01:22 And then, eventually,
01:24 Dito Joey and Yomi,
01:25 they're just going to switch.
01:26 Sometimes, they're going to be on the show,
01:28 sometimes, they're going to be fighting.
01:29 It's like a basketball game.
01:30 So, to support all of them is the most important thing.
01:35 Especially now,
01:36 because the landscape of our industry is changing so fast.
01:40 Because of streaming,
01:44 because of the pandemic that happened,
01:47 so many things have changed.
01:49 And it's so important now to support each other
01:52 because our industry is at risk.
01:56 Unlike other...
01:58 Our advantage as Filipinos, we speak English.
02:01 It's like, it's easy for us to speak English.
02:04 We can follow the call centers.
02:06 It's a big advantage for us over other Asian countries.
02:09 But now, we're seeing a slight disadvantage
02:12 in terms of the film industry.
02:15 Because in other countries,
02:17 they speak their native language.
02:19 They're native tongue.
02:20 They need to make local movies.
02:23 And for us, since we're Filipinos,
02:25 even though we speak English,
02:26 it's not that necessary for them to make Filipino movies
02:33 because they can enjoy movies and stuff.
02:35 But, of course, we can do it.
02:38 It's part of our culture.
02:40 And we have our own stories to tell.
02:42 We have so many stories to tell.
02:43 We have very talented people in the industry
02:47 from the writers to the directors, actors, and stuntmen.
02:52 We can grow if we can get our working budget.
03:02 That's our limitation.
03:03 But I believe in the Filipino talent.
03:05 Not just in music, but in arts in general.
03:08 We can do it in our own country.
03:13 Our budget is always a problem.
03:16 But we can do it if we're good at it.
03:18 Because we always lack resources.
03:21 But I hope our industry will grow.
03:23 Last question.
03:24 After the concert tour in the US,
03:29 after Iron Heart,
03:32 is it possible to go back to the Philippines?
03:34 I have no idea.
03:37 I don't think it's possible.
03:39 There are a lot of shows in the GMA.
03:42 It's not a big problem as entertainment.
03:44 What do you call it?
03:45 Can I go to RPN9?
03:47 Where's Joe?
03:51 RPN9?
03:52 LS2.
03:53 In Guadalajara City.
03:55 The problem is,
03:57 I don't have a CD.
03:59 I can't go to RPN9.
04:01 But, really,
04:05 I can go to RPN9,
04:07 GMA for a long time,
04:09 GMI, TVS, Channel 5,
04:12 and Sitcom.
04:13 Oh my God.
04:14 So, I've looked at the options.
04:20 And it's not for everyone.
04:22 Yes, and anything is possible.
04:26 Because I'm not...
04:31 I'm not closed.
04:35 Why not part of the Bridges?
04:39 No, no.
04:40 Actually, I hope the options will be different.
04:44 Because there's so much talent in the Philippines.
04:47 The existing networks are lacking.
04:51 There are a lot of talents in the Philippines.
04:55 You're a successful actor and now a concert artist.
04:59 Do you have anything to say to the audience?
05:02 I've been very lucky because
05:08 everybody's been so kind.
05:12 From my peers,
05:16 to the networks, to the bosses,
05:19 to the producers,
05:22 and to the fans.
05:25 Of course, I constantly ask,
05:28 "Why are these people so kind?"
05:30 And I still don't have an answer to that.
05:34 What do I want to achieve?
05:40 Actually, the first 40 years of my life,
05:43 I was trying to have...
05:45 You want to have this,
05:49 you want to have more fridge,
05:50 you want to have another house,
05:53 or you want to have another car,
05:55 another this, another that.
05:56 But after 40,
05:58 maybe the midlife crisis affected me,
06:01 I started to subtract.
06:03 So, I've been subtracting.
06:06 I don't need 100 friends.
06:09 I just need a few.
06:11 Reliable ones.
06:12 It's like a filter.
06:14 Even the people I work with,
06:18 I'm very particular that they need gold pipes.
06:21 You know that.
06:23 Because we're here on a limited time.
06:27 So, might as well work on the quality,
06:30 the quality of the experience,
06:32 the quality of what you're doing,
06:35 and the quality of the company.
06:38 It's based on competence.
06:41 Not on being slow.
06:42 I mean, being slow is sure,
06:44 but if you're slow, you're really slow.
06:46 Not like that.
06:47 And then, I don't know who said this,
06:51 but I really like it.
06:52 True power lies not in having more,
06:54 but in needing less.
06:56 And I so agree with that.
06:58 So, I've been subtracting the last decade.
