34 Pro Build Hacks in Minecraft
Transcript
00:00 Here is a blue magma block that won't burn you.
00:02 And here is a floating mine cart track
00:05 that will take you anywhere.
00:07 And these are 34 creative Minecraft build hacks.
00:11 Now here's a great way to add some much needed detail
00:14 to Minecraft's beaches.
00:16 Water logging a few stairs
00:17 and adding some sandstone fences above
00:19 creates a nice looking sand castle.
00:22 The best part is that this thing won't break
00:24 if some annoying torp jumps on it.
00:26 (sneezes)
00:27 Oh, maybe I was wrong.
00:29 Sticking with the sand, here's a palm tree,
00:32 but in Minecraft.
00:33 By placing some dripstone spikes pointed upwards
00:36 and oak leaves on top,
00:37 we can create this thematic greenery.
00:39 It's perfect for anyone
00:40 that would want to build out in the desert.
00:42 Not that anyone really wants to build out here.
00:45 Now check out this floating mine cart railway.
00:47 Turns out that rails can be placed on trapdoors,
00:50 which looks cool by itself,
00:51 but can be made even cooler by flipping them downwards.
00:55 This will leave your rail suspended in the air
00:57 with thin supports.
00:58 This can also be done to angled rails,
01:00 though the results are less aesthetically pleasing
01:03 'cause it'll create this cursed looking rail
01:05 that honestly shouldn't exist in the game.
01:08 Ah, now there is nothing like hitting the sauna
01:11 after a long mining trip
01:12 to unwind and relax those muscles.
01:15 By utilizing the smoke from the campfire,
01:17 we can create the illusion of a sauna.
01:19 I like to line the floor with stripped logs
01:21 or beehives personally,
01:23 as it creates a nice polished hardwood floor look
01:26 for your build.
01:27 Who would have thought to use walls as, well, walls?
01:29 Well, it turns out that using walls
01:31 instead of full blocks in your interior
01:33 is a great way to save space, as well as blocks.
01:36 Plus, it adds a bit more detail to a potentially flat build.
01:40 They come in a lot of great colors too.
01:42 Don't like using walls as walls?
01:44 Well, okay, an ordinary wall is bland,
01:48 and if you're trying to impress that love interest of yours,
01:50 they're probably gonna leave at the first sign of this.
01:53 So instead, why not try spicing up your walls
01:56 using some various shades and other blocks
01:58 to give them that much needed texture?
02:00 They'll probably stick around after that.
02:02 That's great for the exterior, but what about the interior?
02:04 Well, regular carpet is kinda boring,
02:07 so why not spice up your floor decor
02:09 with this zombie skin rug?
02:11 He sure was a biggin'.
02:12 If that's too much, you can just place signs
02:15 below some carpet to create different patterns.
02:17 Though I think 3D definitely pops better,
02:20 so you could always throw some coral on a few slabs
02:22 to get this vibrant shag carpet instead.
02:25 Huh, this looks just like my grandma's house.
02:27 While we're interior decorating,
02:29 does your room need some green,
02:30 but trees are too big,
02:32 and potted plants are just a little too small?
02:34 Well instead, you can easily create your own mini tree
02:37 by potting a fern and placing some leaves on top.
02:39 Personally, I prefer using the dead bush
02:41 or mangrove propagule.
02:43 I think it looks a little more natural.
02:44 Focusing our attention outside,
02:46 check out this straight fence.
02:48 Kinda boring.
02:49 This picket-style fence is much more interesting to look at.
02:52 If you grab yourself a debug stick,
02:54 you can lower the fence gates
02:55 and then move some buttons on top of the posts.
02:58 It's real fancy.
02:59 Now here's an alternative you can make in survival.
03:01 Normally, wall blocks won't create columns
03:04 unless it's a corner.
03:05 An easy way to get around this
03:06 is to simply place string above the walls
03:08 where you want a column.
03:09 Gray candles on iron bars
03:11 can also be used to achieve a similar look.
03:13 If parrots keep eating your crops,
03:15 then you'll need help from this guy.
03:17 The perfect addition to any farm,
03:19 he's guaranteed to send those birds flying.
03:22 Or your pumpkin back.
03:23 He's got a big hat and an even bigger attitude.
03:26 But if you're a mole person
03:28 who prefers to farm underground,
03:30 with just two levers and some end rods,
03:32 we can give the illusion of a sprinkler system.
03:35 Neat, but expensive and also dangerous.
03:38 Maybe something more practical
03:39 would be making some fluorescent lighting,
03:41 perfect for an office space or your modern home.
03:43 Now two by two infinite water sources
03:45 are a thing of the past,
03:47 thanks to this well that will never run dry.
03:49 By waterlogging some blocks like so,
03:51 we can make it look like this one block space
03:53 contains regenerating water.
03:55 Now we have a much sleeker,
03:57 but still unlimited source of water.
03:59 This is a normal magma block,
04:00 and here's a blue magma block.
04:02 Where did it come from?
04:03 Well, by placing a diamond block under a sculpt vein,
04:06 we can create this cool variant of a classic.
04:09 Plus, this one won't damage you.
04:10 These can be a great addition to any Nether theme build,
04:13 as they compliment Soulfire perfectly.
04:16 Are you tired of feeling unworthy?
04:17 Well, behold, a simple way to feel like a king,
04:21 with an armor stand, a few pieces of cobblestone,
04:23 and a copper rod, we can easily make a sword fit for a king.
04:27 Now, if only I could pull it out!
04:29 Well, if that's too over the top for you,
04:32 why don't you try something more fit
04:34 to display inside your house, like this katana?
04:36 Pushing an end rod and some chains into armor stands,
04:39 we are able to create this illusion
04:40 of a katana resting on a mount,
04:42 and you can add it in any direction you want
04:45 to compliment it.
04:46 Now this is a build that's both functional and stylish.
04:49 Most people use stairs to represent chairs,
04:52 but they're not all that great for actually sitting in.
04:55 So, by using a mine cart and some trap doors,
04:58 we can instead create a real sitting space.
05:00 Now, if only I had a functioning TV.
05:03 Guess I'll have to make one of those too.
05:04 A great addition to any modern design,
05:06 using a painting and some note blocks for speakers
05:09 can create the illusion of a big screen.
05:11 Or, if you're a cheater like me,
05:13 you can use structure blocks from Creative
05:15 to build this better looking setup.
05:17 Do you still think clocks are useless in Minecraft?
05:20 Well, you might be right.
05:21 However, incorporating one with a few trap doors
05:24 and a copper rod, we can create a grandfather clock.
05:27 While you can always just look outside,
05:28 it's a functional and nice aesthetic to have.
05:31 Though I do miss my grandfather.
05:34 Grandpa, look out!
05:36 Rest easy, G-Dog.
05:37 Armor stands take up way too much space,
05:39 and with 1.20, you're gonna need somewhere
05:42 to store all your cool new trends.
05:44 Using a piston, we can push the stands closer together
05:47 to build a more efficient armor rack.
05:49 Now, I just need to decide what I'm gonna wear.
05:52 To go along with your new armor displays,
05:54 here's a really cool way that you can show off your helmets.
05:56 By dropping an armor stand into a block
05:58 and adding scaffolding above,
06:00 we can create this cool helmet display
06:02 to show off your most precious gear.
06:04 Storing your food in a chest is so 2018.
06:08 Using campfires, you should instead create a nice pantry
06:11 to store all of your meats on, like this.
06:13 Stylish and practical for easy cooking.
06:16 And don't worry, campfires won't burn your houses down.
06:18 That's why I also built this.
06:21 Furnaces are great for smelting,
06:22 and campfires are even better for cooking.
06:25 Neither looks great for a modern kitchen, though.
06:27 So by dropping some hopper mine carts
06:29 on campfires for smoke,
06:31 we can create this modern-looking stove.
06:33 You get bonus points if you add in ventilation, too.
06:36 Safety first.
06:37 For a modern kitchen,
06:38 you're gonna need to make a modern table,
06:40 and make sure you decorate it to suit your dinner guests.
06:44 Candles make a great addition as sauce bottles,
06:46 but that's not all they can be used for.
06:48 Combining copper rods with two candles
06:51 can make for a great dinner table addition.
06:53 Oh, we can finally make lanterns float,
06:55 thanks to these bad boys.
06:57 By placing candles at any height we want
07:00 and attaching a lantern to the bottom,
07:01 we now have floating lanterns.
07:04 Ooh, spooky.
07:07 Campfires aren't only great for fires and pantries.
07:10 By placing them on top of some fence posts like so,
07:13 we can create a great-looking patio room,
07:15 or you could place them over some water
07:17 to build a more detailed-looking bridge.
07:19 Just don't ignite them,
07:21 or you'll end up with some crispy feet.
07:23 Do you love cats?
07:24 Then you need to spoil them with these.
07:27 You can build up a little bed for them to sit in,
07:29 or create a cat playground for them to jump up on.
07:32 And if, for some weird reason,
07:34 you wanted to give them a place to go,
07:37 you could even build them this litter box.
07:39 Gross.
07:39 Signs are cheap,
07:40 and they can be used to take any build to the next level.
07:43 By using them over doors or windows
07:45 and adding this squared character to the corners,
07:47 we can make it look like houses have been boarded up.
07:50 Signs also look great wrapped around columns or pillars,
07:53 and can really add some detail to that lame stack of blocks.
07:56 Speaking of lame,
07:57 paths and grass can be so boring.
08:00 To spice it up,
08:01 why don't you try mixing in some moss,
08:03 green concrete powder,
08:04 and green wool to texture the paths around your house?
08:07 This can break up that boring old grass block texture.
08:10 If you'd rather feel like you have a well-kept lawn
08:12 and impress your neighbors,
08:14 mix in lines of moss with your grass
08:15 to make it look as though it's been mowed.
08:17 Not that I'd ever mow the lawn when my parents ask.
08:20 If you're really looking for something nice,
08:22 try using moss and azalea bushes
08:24 for a beautiful flower path.
08:26 Now this should really grab the attention of your date.
08:29 Cartography tables look like rotated dark oak planks.
08:33 By mixing dark oak planks and cartography tables,
08:36 we're able to create some nice textured walls.
08:38 You can also mix these two together in your table designs
08:41 to make it look like you have items built into the table.
08:44 Neat.
08:44 I don't know about you,
08:45 but after a long day of mining and crafting,
08:48 a nice shower always hits the spot.
08:50 By hooking up a dispenser to some redstone,
08:52 we can create our own relaxation station in Minecraft.
08:55 Best part is,
08:56 the water is never too cold or too hot.
08:58 Now are you up for a game inside of a game?
09:01 Well, by placing some signs underneath a green carpet,
09:03 we can create this pool table
09:05 to add detail to any hangout space.
09:07 Though I'd never play.
09:08 If I did, I'd lose.
09:10 I was always more of a darts person anyway.
09:12 And a target block is perfect for a bullseye.
09:14 Make sure not to forget the darts.
09:16 Having to swim all the way down to the sea floor
09:19 just to build on the water has always been a pain.
09:22 So it's great that we can instead place down a lily pad
09:25 to cut out all that extra work.
09:27 It's sure to save you a ton of time and a ton of blocks.
09:30 Speaking of, blocks have to be placed on a grid.
09:33 So how is it that these are then in between?
09:36 Well, this cool illusion can be accomplished
09:38 by placing stairs in just the right way
09:40 so that the combined corners look like blocks.
09:43 It's a great way to both confuse your friends
09:45 and add more depth to a build.
