00:02 Stroud has a passing yards prop of 3,075 and
00:08 the passing touchdown prop is 17 and a half.
00:13 I think CJ Stroud is someone that had an incredible time at Ohio State.
00:20 But Ohio State quarterbacks have not really been able to run into this league,
00:25 Donnie, and light it on fire.
00:28 And I don't know if that is the system, is that bad landing spots,
00:34 is it the fact that Ohio State every year has not just an NFL wide receiver room,
00:39 but a Hall of Fame level wide receiver room.
00:42 That's where Garrett Wilson went, by the way.
00:45 CJ Stroud comes into a wide receiver room that is impossible to trust.
00:52 He does have some good blocking in front of him.
00:55 They're probably supposed to be trailing in a number of games,
00:58 which usually would help yardage props.
01:01 What do you make of CJ Stroud being QB one and his season long over-unders?
01:06 >> Yeah, we expected him to be the starting quarterback,
01:08 just took a little bit longer for us on that.
01:10 But when you get back to that Ohio State offense, right, it's the clap offense.
01:13 Basically, you take a look at the wide receivers,
01:15 all three are like first team All-Americans.
01:17 You clap the ball, you look to the sideline, go route.
01:19 And you go, okay, I got one read here.
01:21 Look at that, my guy's wide open by 15 yards.
01:23 That's on rinse on repeat for Ohio State.
01:26 And again, it means the quarterback doesn't have to do too much.
01:28 Is that a detriment to the quarterback?
01:30 Is that his fault that his wide receivers are so good he has to make one read,
01:33 not two or three, because nobody's open?
01:35 But hear me out on this.
01:36 I think sometimes we get lost in the type of quarterback that's coming into
01:39 the pros from Ohio State.
01:41 Let's just pick out Justin Fields, electric talent, big time arm.
01:44 But Kevin, if the pocket breaks down here after one read,
01:47 what does Justin Fields do go?
01:49 I'm bigger, faster, and stronger than everybody out here on defense.
01:51 Let me just run for ten yards.
01:53 It's no big deal.
01:53 That's not CJ Stroud's game here.
01:55 Is he athletic?
01:56 Of course he is.
01:57 But he's not that run-first guy when the pocket breaks down.
02:00 The reason I'm bringing that up is if you take a look at his prop here, right,
02:03 for the overall yards for the season for passing.
02:05 If he stays healthy, 17 games, that's 180 yards a game.
02:10 Now granted, we took a lot of jokes on Justin Fields.
02:11 180 yards, he'd be lucky to get half of that in a game.
02:14 Yes, but Justin Fields was a different project here going, you know what?
02:17 We're gonna take that running ability and the passing ability, but
02:20 also with the Bears, give them no outlets to throw the football.
02:22 And hopefully, you can run around and make enough plays to win.
02:24 Disastrous last year.
02:26 But I'm looking at this, and not only am I saying that,
02:28 you have a dominant wide receiving core, which looks to be Woods, Brown, and
02:31 Collins.
02:31 You have a couple good running backs, a couple good offensive lines.
02:34 But the fact of the matter is,
02:35 CJ Stroud's not gonna be running for his life in order to make first downs.
02:38 He's gonna be throwing for his life to try to make first downs.
02:41 And how many times do we take a look at these rookie quarterbacks
02:44 going into their first start of the season?
02:46 This can't be, hey, CJ, play three or four games, then hit the bench, and
02:49 then let Davis Mills get in there.
02:51 Because Davis Mills has been there, done that before, and
02:53 probably would want a competent show.
02:55 I don't think Houston wants to open Pandora's box, Kevin, and say, okay,
02:59 CJ Stroud's a rookie, struggled through his first five weeks.
03:01 Let's give Davis Mills another look.
03:03 And the reason I bring that up is because, A, you don't wanna question him.
03:06 You don't wanna ruin his confidence.
03:07 But B, Kevin, 180 yards a game for 17 games on a bad football team,
03:13 with a quarterback that can throw the football and stay in the pocket.
03:16 It's actually not a lot of yards here.
03:18 We're just trained here on Ohio State quarterbacks like Justin Fields,
03:20 throwing for a buck 20, like, ooh, he had a great game.
03:23 But if I'm looking at Justin Fields compared to CJ Stroud,
03:27 two different things here, Kevin.
03:28 I think he stays in the pocket.
03:29 I think he starts all 17 games.
03:31 And they're gonna be losing in the fourth quarter.
03:33 You're gonna pick up bogus yards at that point, Kevin.
