00:00 I think it's the first step in what's set to be a really strong and healthy relationship
00:09 that I think will go many, many years into the future.
00:13 So to be able to host them here in Tindal, to show them our hometown, our home digs,
00:18 to support them even for a few days is really warming and then to be able to do that in
00:24 reverse up in Japan is very exciting for us as well.
00:28 Yeah, I've just met the commander of the 3FS Squadron, Kemi.
00:33 Kemi and his wingmen have just flown in from Guam and previously from Japan.
00:38 It's a huge deal to fly those distances in any fighter aircraft.
00:44 F-35 is a new platform and this is the first deployment for the JASDAF with F-35 outside
00:51 of Japan and to Australia.
00:53 So it's very exciting and we're very pleased to host them here in Tindal.
00:57 We in Australia and we in Japan have special and strategic partnership and special relationship.
01:05 So I think it is very important for us coming here in terms of deepening our relationship
01:12 and enforcing our defence cooperation.
01:16 Kemi, nice to meet you.
01:19 Nice to meet you.
01:20 Welcome to Australia.
01:21 Thank you for having me.
01:22 Thank you.
01:23 It's a really important moment in our relationship, both at a strategic level but also at a squadron level.
01:36 And so to host you here at Tindal in Australia for the first time is very special.
01:44 We work closely with each other and are committed to working together.
01:49 We will improve our ability to deter, to shake, to counter and respond to challenges in our region in the years ahead.
