00:00 After air passengers have faced significant delays to flights following a technical issue
00:04 in the UK's air traffic control system, here are some of your rights as a passenger.
00:09 If your flight is covered under UK law, your airline must let you choose between either
00:13 getting a refund or an alternative flight, regardless of how far in advance the cancellation
00:18 was made.
00:19 You can get your money back for any part of the ticket you have not used.
00:24 So if you booked a return flight and the outbound leg is cancelled, you can get the full cost
00:28 of the return ticket refunded.
00:30 If you still want to travel, your airline must find you an alternative flight.
00:34 If another airline is flying to your destination significantly sooner, or there are other suitable
00:39 modes of transport available, then you have a right to be booked onto that alternative
00:43 transport instead.
00:45 Citizens Advice advise that you're entitled to get compensation if the flight arrives
00:49 more than three hours late, or it's the airline's fault.
00:53 For example, if they didn't get enough bookings or there was a technical fault.
