00:00 I definitely want to learn a little bit more
00:01 about the Buckeyes here in the hours to come.
00:04 And we're going to hear from Ryan Day later today.
00:07 So we'll kind of wrap our show today with just Ryan Day
00:10 related thoughts, because we'll have his press conference
00:13 streaming live for you in 4 and 1/2 hours
00:17 when we get down to Columbus.
00:19 What do you want to hear from Ryan Day today?
00:21 Yeah, we'll see what he has to say.
00:23 Even with speaking with Jack, there's a lot of unknowns
00:25 on the Indiana side based on their personnel.
00:29 And it's really tough to understand
00:31 what you're facing when you've never seen a guy.
00:33 And it sounds like there's going to be a lot of transfers,
00:35 a lot of new faces from the Indiana Hoosiers.
00:38 So my guess from what we'll hear from Coach Day
00:42 is no change in the quarterback conversation.
00:45 I bet he nips that right away.
00:48 First question, we know what's coming.
00:49 But he's going to say, hey, we're
00:51 going to roll with two guys.
00:53 And here's the situation of that going forward.
00:56 But I bet you're going to hear him talk
00:59 through the goals of the week when you get to Saturday.
01:04 We want to play clean.
01:04 We want to look clean.
01:05 We want to have smooth operation, at least to start.
01:09 Make sure that there's no boneheaded mistakes,
01:12 that Ohio State is really just on their Ps and Qs
01:15 as they try to figure out what's going on.
01:17 And then as the game progresses, the coaching staff
01:20 will get a better idea of what they're facing,
01:23 what they're seeing, and where their advantages are.
01:26 But I bet you're going to want to hear him say,
01:27 we want to start smooth.
01:29 And then as the game progresses, we'll
01:31 start to take our shots and find our space.
01:33 So I bet it's going to be a very ho-hum press conference today,
01:39 just because we don't know too much yet about Indiana.
01:41 And we don't know too much, really, about Ohio State.
01:43 And he's not going to say anything
01:45 to give anything away at this point before the game.
01:49 Yeah, and in a lot of ways, I kind of expect the same thing
01:51 from Jim Knowles.
01:52 But I hope we sense an edginess.
02:01 I hope we sense how ready they are.
02:06 I know Ohio State isn't taking Indiana for granted.
02:10 I realize the line in Vegas is pretty substantial,
02:14 basically four touchdowns.
02:17 You only get so many opportunities
02:19 to make a good impression.
02:21 And in one more year where there's
02:23 only four teams that make the college football playoff,
02:25 we talked a little bit about the strength of Ohio State's
02:28 schedule yesterday with Notre Dame, Wisconsin, obviously
02:31 Michigan, and Penn State projected
02:34 to all be really good this year.
02:35 So there should be lots of opportunities
02:37 to really showcase yourself against high quality
02:40 competition.
02:41 But when you play a Big Ten team to open the year,
02:44 you better be ready to go.
02:45 And a couple of years ago, we saw Ohio State
02:48 have to really drag it out against Minnesota
02:52 because the Gophers really played well that day.
02:56 I don't think Indiana, from a talent perspective,
02:59 is quite on Ohio State's level.
03:02 But man, week one, you almost feel
03:04 like you've got to throw it out the window a little bit.
03:06 And coaches will never say that publicly.
03:10 But sometimes it can get a little ugly.
03:12 And you just got to find a way to win.
03:13 So I totally agree with you.
03:15 I didn't even think of that.
03:16 From what we expect to hear from them,
03:18 I bet they are a little on edge.
03:20 I bet it's not going to be a smiley,
03:22 like, hey, we're excited about the year.
03:24 Because not even going back two years to Minnesota,
03:27 but even going back to last year.
