00:00 Oh man, this dog meme is hilarious!
00:02 Woah!
00:03 Ah!
00:04 If you've ever had fashion emergencies like Vicky here, we've got some great quick
00:10 fix-it tips that can save the day and your dignity.
00:14 Grab a pen and paper, you've got some DIY clothing hacks comin' at ya!
00:19 Whether your late night dessert sessions are catching up with you, or you simply bent the
00:24 wrong way, rips and tears happen.
00:27 Make your first stitch from the inside of the seam to the outside.
00:30 Next, stitch on the other side but from the outside, and go back across again and again
00:36 like shoelaces.
00:37 As you move your way up, make the thread taut but not tight.
00:41 See?
00:42 Easy!
00:43 Once you get to the top, go ahead and gently pull to tighten the stitches.
00:49 Check it out!
00:50 It's starting to look like a natural seam!
00:51 You can't even see the thread anymore!
00:54 To be prepared, always keep a needle and thread in your purse or book bag so you can quickly
00:59 remedy a bad situation.
01:01 No one should know what color undies you're wearing.
01:04 Yes!
01:05 It's movie night!
01:06 And tonight we're watching The Notebook for the hundredth time!
01:10 We just can't get enough of Ryan Gosling, can we girls?
01:13 Ooh, you got the good chips this time!
01:16 Nice choice!
01:17 We'll never get sick of this movie!
01:19 Oh no!
01:21 She can't remember who he is?
01:23 No!
01:24 He's your love, remember?
01:25 Oh god, why are we doing this to ourselves?
01:28 Again?
01:29 Oh man, they both died holding hands.
01:30 It's just so sweet!
01:31 Why do I always think this movie's going to end differently every time I watch it?
01:44 Whoop!
01:45 Um, um, Vicky?
01:51 Help a sister out here?
01:53 Oh, looks like I snagged you there.
01:55 I'm sorry.
01:56 Wait, I have an idea!
01:59 I'm gonna just borrow your bobby pin for one second.
02:04 If you have a snag in your sweater, loop the thread through a bobby pin just like this.
02:09 Then stick the bobby pin back into the sweater and out through another opening.
02:14 See?
02:15 Looks like it never even happened!
02:16 Here's a closer look.
02:18 Put the thread in the pin, push it through, and push it through another opening.
02:23 Snag be gone!
02:25 Okay, I'm not mad anymore, thanks.
02:30 Woah!
02:31 Vicky, your makeup!
02:32 Um, Helly?
02:34 You should talk!
02:35 Ugh, man.
02:37 Watching it again next weekend?
02:39 Yup.
02:41 Nothing can spoil a beautiful day outside in the fresh air, right?
02:44 That is, until a greedy little thief steals your hard-earned cash right out of your pocket.
02:49 Helly, come on, turn around!
02:53 Oh man, there's gotta be a better way to hide your cash in your pocket.
03:00 Here's a nifty hack!
03:02 Take a regular old maxi pad and open it up, but don't take it out of the wrapper.
03:06 Take a wad of cash and fold it up inside the pad, right in the middle.
03:11 Now seal that sucker back up and watch the magic!
03:15 Next time you're sitting outside, stick your makeshift wallet into your back pocket and
03:19 you can rest assured, no one's gonna want to steal an old pad.
03:23 Ugh, nothing good is on.
03:25 Stupid.
03:26 Seen it already.
03:27 Hey, Helly!
03:28 Woah!
03:29 Geez, Vicky, what did you do?
03:32 Pop that button off with a slingshot?
03:34 Ooh, that's gotta hurt.
03:36 Oh no, not our picture!
03:39 Okay, seriously, will this thing slow down already?
03:44 Woah!
03:45 Pineapple juice down!
03:47 Don't sweat it, Vicky, I got you.
03:50 Here, take this dime.
03:52 No offense, Helly, but how on earth is spare change going to help fix Vicky's pants?
03:57 Believe it or not, a metal coin like this can actually come in really handy.
04:01 The next DIY clothing hack is a really clever one, so watch closely.
04:06 Alright, let's give this guy a try, shall we?
04:08 Cut a piece of denim out of an old pair of jeans in the shape of a circle.
04:12 Flip it over so that the back side is facing up.
04:15 Place the dime in the center.
04:17 With a needle and thread, start to make stitches around the dime.
04:20 You can make the stitches fairly large, but not too big, see?
04:24 Go all the way around.
04:27 Go ahead and gently pull the string tight so that it puckers the fabric around the dime.
04:34 Now wrap the rest of the thread around the tail multiple times so that it's nice and
04:38 tight.
04:39 Put the button into the first buttonhole so that the tail is facing inward.
04:43 Turn it over and start to widen and flatten the tail fabric so it's pressed against the
04:47 jeans.
04:48 With your thread and needle, sew the tail down flat so that the button stays put.
04:53 Snip off the remaining thread.
04:55 Now take the other buttonhole and slip the new denim button through it.
04:59 Hey, that looks pretty good!
05:02 So if you're ever in a bind and don't have any spare buttons on you, spare change and
05:07 some clever stitching can save the day!
05:11 Another day, another work outfit.
05:13 And while you like to keep things casual, a nice shirt tuck can take your outfit up
05:18 a notch.
05:19 A tuck in the back and a tuck in the front.
05:25 Looking good, Hallie!
05:27 Now grab your bag and off you go!
05:29 Oh shoot, my shoe's untied.
05:34 Oh!
05:35 Aw man, get back in there!
05:38 Need to grab that box up there?
05:40 And there goes your shirt again.
05:43 Is there anything more annoying?
05:45 Yep, I knew that would happen.
05:47 Um, um, if I continue doing this all day, people are gonna start thinking I'm scratching
05:51 my butt.
05:54 If you are sick of tugging at your work shirt all day, this hack will knock your socks off.
05:59 Grab a pair of scissors and cut across the bottom of the shirt before it starts to curve.
06:04 Now get a pair of stretchy undies.
06:07 Take the front of the waistband of the underwear and fold it down against the front of the
06:11 work shirt like this.
06:14 With a needle and thread, begin to stitch the two pieces together.
06:17 With the second stitch, go back over the fabric to the other side so you can see the string
06:22 looping over the edge.
06:24 Once you've stitched the undies along the bottom of the shirt, do a couple loop-arounds
06:28 and knot off the end of the thread.
06:29 Well, look at that!
06:31 You just fashioned your very own leotard!
06:34 Oop, you're not done yet!
06:37 Make a cut across the crotch area.
06:42 Take the front of the underwear flap and fold it upward.
06:45 Place a small snap on the fabric and begin to sew it starting from behind.
06:54 Once you've done four of these, two on each flap, you'll see that they snap together!
06:59 This part may have taken a while, but the snaps come in really handy when Mother Nature
07:04 calls.
07:05 Now when you put on your shirt, you don't even need to take the time to tuck the ends
07:08 in!
07:09 See?
07:10 Now your shirt can lay perfectly flat with no awkward bunching!
07:13 Go ahead and give it a tug test!
07:15 I wonder how long it took her to put those fake eyelashes on…
07:19 That's enough fashion news for today.
07:22 Yikes!
07:23 Aw man, I can't get off this couch, it's freezing!
07:34 Oh, hey, what's this?
07:36 Fuzzy socks?
07:38 Now we're talking!
07:39 Okay, now I feel way better.
07:42 Whoever invented socks is a genius.
07:45 No more ice for these toes!
07:46 But if you really want to get smart with these, pull the fabric from your ankles over a pair
07:51 of sandals like this.
07:53 Now you have yourself a pair of fuzzy slippers!
07:56 And back under the blanket you go!
07:59 Stay cozy, Vicki!
08:04 Ah, toasty warm goodness.
08:11 Packing for a trip there, Hallie?
08:13 All that stuff should fit into your backpack, right?
08:15 It's just a short two-day trip, after all.
08:18 Hmm, wait a minute…
08:20 Alright, come on, please fit!
08:23 Maybe if I just keep shoving it in again and again, it'll all fit?
08:27 I'm never gonna make it to my trip on time!
08:29 Hey there, Hallie!
08:32 Packing trouble?
08:33 Oh jeez, it's like a monkey packed that thing!
08:37 Let me show you a little packing hack my mom taught me that never fails to save space.
08:42 Take this t-shirt and lay it flat on the table.
08:45 Fold the sleeves in over the chest.
08:46 Now take other items like your towel, underwear, and socks and lay them on top just like this.
08:53 Lift up the top of the shirt with everything on top and roll it on down.
08:57 Kind of like you're making a little burrito, filled with clothes instead of beans, of course.
09:02 See the ankles on your socks sticking out of the sides?
09:04 Roll them over the ends securing the roll of clothes you've made.
09:09 You can do it in one big cuff, see?
09:13 Nice!
09:15 Now you've got yourself a compact burrito buddy to take with you on your trip.
09:19 Oh wow, they can fit right into my backpack, no problem!
09:23 And what's also great about this packing method is that your clothes won't be as wrinkled.
09:27 Hurry up, we're late!
