00:00 You know what is always exciting, no matter what kind of wrestling fan you are, looking
00:04 at the younger generation of talent taking your own finger of power and going "I think
00:09 that person is going to become a star".
00:12 So we here at Raw Culture decided it would be a good idea to find 10 of these and call
00:16 a list the 10 wrestlers who we think have the biggest star breakout potential, gonna
00:21 do good things in the future.
00:23 And then we reworked that name a little bit and we arrived here.
00:27 I don't know what I'm talking about, my name's Simon if you care.
00:31 Let's go.
00:32 Number 10, Ricky Starks.
00:33 If there was 3 words to sum up Ricky Starks, every single time he is on television he maximises
00:40 his minutes.
00:41 And he just makes sure that no matter what AEW gives him, he knocks it out the park.
00:45 So you give him 30 seconds backstage, he will find a way to weave this into his social media
00:50 so it becomes a bigger thing.
00:51 If you give him 5, 10, 15 minutes in the ring, he will make sure he smashes it and he doesn't
00:56 even say that much on AEW Rampage commentary, but every word counts.
01:01 An often used statement in wrestling has always been "make sure they remember you" because
01:05 if you do find a place in a fan's brain you nestle in, you're probably gonna be in there
01:10 for life.
01:11 And I tell you this, one day Ricky Starks, without a shadow of a doubt, in either big
01:16 wrestling company, will be a world champion.
01:19 Number 9, Hook.
01:20 Now there was a time where people said "well that Hook, he's just a comedy figure, he's
01:24 just a meme, nobody really cares about him".
01:27 And here we are months later, long after his debut, and let's just be honest, we're all
01:32 in love.
01:33 And this just comes down to something that somebody has within the confines of professional
01:37 wrestling.
01:38 Like, he's not the greatest in-ring worker I've ever seen, I'm not even sure I've heard
01:42 him say more than a few words, but when he walks down that aisle with his glorious hair,
01:47 I straight away just want to see what he's going to do.
01:50 We have this kind of relationship and no it's not weird.
01:53 I mean as I say these words, he's about to team up with Dan Housen to take on Mark Sterling
01:58 and Tony Nese, and maybe if you had told me that six months ago I would have gone "what,
02:03 that sounds absolutely ridiculous".
02:05 Instead it's one of my favourite things on all of wrestling television, and a large part
02:10 of its success is Hook.
02:12 He's also a second generation talent given that he is the son of Taz, so once again,
02:17 keep your eyes on this boy, he's gonna fly.
02:20 Number 8, MJF.
02:21 I mean if MJF ever hears that I put him on a list that said he is a future breakout star,
02:26 he is going to find me and probably laugh at me for being a balt.
02:30 But really, this is just a massive compliment, because right now he is one of the best in
02:36 all of professional wrestling, but I tell you, I tell you right now, he is only at the
02:40 tip of his iceberg.
02:41 Because I tell you, eventually he is going to break through to an even higher stratosphere
02:45 when he gets some more experience under his belt and when he finally wins a world championship.
02:50 I mean, think about all the 24 year old wrestlers you know right now, how many can you point
02:55 at and say "well that person is definitely going to win belt after belt after belt after
02:59 belt".
03:00 There ain't that many, but one of them is Maxwell Jacob Freeman.
03:03 The irony being, even if a promoter decided "actually no, I don't want to give him any
03:08 gold", he'd still find a way to be a star, because he already is one.
03:13 I mean his contract isn't up till 2024 and people are already going "maybe he's going
03:17 to go to WWE, maybe he's going to stay in AEW" and that is because he has created a
03:22 buzz for himself, another important tool, say it with me, in professional wrestling.
03:28 7.
03:29 Julius Creed
03:30 If you go back to when NXT 2.0 was about to become a thing, two names kept being thrown
03:35 into our face.
03:36 One was Bron Breaker and the other was Julius Creed.
03:39 And if you want to know why Julius fits in here, it's because while Bron has been given
03:43 the keys to the castle and everyone's like "oh my gosh, if you want to become a 2022
03:47 Goldberg, that would be great", Julius has got some crappy creative here and there, and
03:53 do you know what he has done every single time?
03:56 Made it work.
03:57 I will say I think Breaker is ahead of the pack at the moment, but Creed is always having
04:01 good matches and he has this weird jock energy which may actually see him become a breakout
04:07 star.
04:08 I mean he'll more than likely be a heel, but that's ok, you can be a big deal and
04:12 also be a bad guy.
04:13 You've got to imagine that WWE absolutely loves him too because look at him, so if the
04:17 machine does get behind him and pushes him like he needs to be pushed, I think in a few
04:23 years time we may have a main eventor on our hands.
04:27 6.
04:28 Yuka Sakazaki
04:29 Yuka Sakazaki has so much breakout potential because of three major things.
04:33 One, she's just so damn happy all the time, you can't help but root for her.
04:38 Two, she moves so quickly and has this dodge ability, it's like you're watching a damn
04:43 video game.
04:44 And three, she has time on her side.
04:47 I mean she's only 29 years old and could already do all this stuff in the ring and
04:51 while we've only seen her a couple of times in AEW, I think eventually as their women
04:56 division does grow, Yuka is going to find a massive place and when she gets her chance,
05:01 she will smash it.
05:02 So really all she needs is a little bit more time in front of the camera, so maybe this
05:06 is a bit of a Hail Mary, but just go on YouTube and watch any of her matches.
05:11 She's so damn smooth, I'm talking smoother than my bald head.
05:15 5.
05:16 Jade Cargill
05:17 So we have another MJF situation on our hands here, because let's not pretend otherwise,
05:21 Jade Cargill is already a massive star.
05:24 She has one of those intangible qualities that you can't teach right down to the point
05:27 I was watching All Elite Wrestling the other day, my girlfriend walked in, she saw Jade
05:32 Cargill and she said "who the flub is that?" and believe you me, usually I get no questions,
05:38 just disappointing looks.
05:39 But once again though, do not forget, as we have been talking, she has only had 32 matches,
05:44 meaning she's just going to get better and better and better and if we are marking things
05:48 on a curve, if she is here right now, then in a few years, she's going to be off the
05:54 page.
05:55 Even if she doesn't, it doesn't matter, because once again when Jade is around, everybody
05:58 is going "oh man, maybe we should go check out Cargill".
06:03 She could own AEW for a long time to come, I can't wait.
06:07 4.
06:08 Konosuke Tekesuta
06:09 Just go back in time, only recently, you don't have to get a DeLorean, and watch Jay Lethal
06:13 vs. Tekesuta on AEW television.
06:16 If you had never seen this man before, well about 12 minutes later you went "ha ha ha
06:22 ha, that guy is ridiculous".
06:23 All Elite Wrestling clearly knows this as well, because he had a visual pin over Jay
06:27 Lethal until there was shenanigans, and this is another guy where you can go watch his
06:31 stuff in Japan, or you can watch his stuff over here in the States, and the dude never
06:36 misses.
06:37 I mean imagine you are starting to be a wrestler right now, and you know this is the bar, even
06:42 when you're early on in your career, you're going to start freaking out.
06:45 He also looks like he could absolutely whoop your ass, but can also move at around about
06:50 100mph.
06:51 Sure, we don't really know what he's like on promos at the moment, but sometimes it
06:57 really doesn't matter.
06:58 3.
06:59 Isaiah Cassidy
07:00 Now you can really take either of the guys from Private Party, because do not forget
07:04 how far they've already come.
07:06 Do you remember when they had that upset win over the Young Bucks when Dynamite was a brand
07:10 new thing that we were playing with, and now they're heels that have teamed up with Andrade?
07:16 They are starting to understand it, and once again they're only like 9 years old.
07:20 This year though in particular, Cassidy is impressive, because he seems to have really
07:23 bought into this new character and ensured that it matched up with his ring work.
07:27 And he's just got this brand new confidence, he's unlikable in the way that he's trying
07:31 to be.
07:32 And when he does get on a microphone, he's always talking about like "I'm going to get
07:36 in that ass".
07:37 It makes me laugh.
07:38 Do not turn this into one of those "Oh man, Simon is saying that one of them is Marty
07:41 Giannetti and one of them is Shawn Michaels".
07:43 No I'm not saying that.
07:45 Both of them are going to do great.
07:47 It's just in 2022, Isaiah Cassidy has really come out of his shell.
07:51 2.
07:52 Roxanne Perez
07:53 The former Roxy proved she had superstar potential when she did indeed debut for NXT 2.0 and
07:59 all of a sudden the internet, especially those who weren't aware of her beforehand, went
08:03 "ha ha, who's this?"
08:05 I mean recently she did a dive where she was in the ring and she jumped through somebody's
08:09 legs in order to execute it, and while that sounds absolutely ridiculous, it was just
08:14 the way she did it that made her feel like a big deal.
08:18 She's also ridiculously young, really agile, talented and can go, and so far I don't think
08:22 I've seen her have a bad match, and maybe more importantly than all of this, you can
08:27 just feel and you can tell that she wants it.
08:30 So far she's doing pretty good in the sense she was excellent in Ring of Honor, and now
08:33 she's probably going to make her way up to either Raw or Smackdown.
08:37 And if WWE treats her right, and I know that's a big question mark, I think we will finally
08:42 have a good promotion from the developmental leagues to the top.
08:46 1.
08:47 Paige Van Zandt
08:48 We already know that Paige Van Zandt connects with a big audience because she did it in
08:51 MMA, and she did it with UFC, so if she just takes all of those qualities and applies it
08:56 to professional wrestling, where arguably you could amp this up even further, then flub
09:01 me she's going to be great.
09:02 And really she already is, like when she ran out during that ladder match to fight Tye
09:06 Conte, she has barely been a sports entertainer and yet everyone was going crazy for her,
09:13 because once again she just emits this kind of energy.
09:16 I think a huge reason for this too is because people know that she's legit.
09:20 I'm not going to call her the female Brock Lesnar or anything like that, but you have
09:23 seen her punch people in the face and her opponents crumble down onto the floor.
09:29 Also when she was done with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, she went into bare knuckle boxing.
09:34 All I'm trying to tell you is that Paige Van Zandt would kick your ass.
09:38 So it really is so far so good right now, and given that she is training with Gangrel
09:41 in order to improve all of this, well if all the stars do align, WWE may regret passing
09:49 on her.
09:50 Which apparently they did.
09:51 Now for the other people that could be massive breakout stars, make sure you let us know
