Summer is almost over unfortunately and we're fast approaching those long autumn months.I'll be speaking to people here on the streets of Birmingham to hear where they think are the best spots to take a long walk during what is for many the most beautiful time of the year.

00:00 So I think in Birmingham I really love the Edgbaston Reservoir. I just think it's a really
00:05 gorgeous walk and there's like a little beachfront there so you can sort of sit and look at the
00:09 lake it's really nice. What about you?
00:12 To me, Autumn Walk. Through town, to the comic shop, yeah. And then to the other comic shop.
00:21 It's a really lovely walk.
00:26 I like the canal. The canals around Birmingham are great. Also Clint Hills, he's really nice.
00:33 And I'd say have a walk down the canals round by the cube and over by the mailbox and around
00:43 there and there's some really interesting stuff around.
00:46 Yeah, so the best places for an Autumn Walk, there's loads of great parks. You can walk
00:51 around the city centre, around the canals, all those parks. There's Edgbaston, great
00:57 places to walk and of course Sutton Park as well is probably the best place. If you just
01:00 go a little bit further on the train, you can go over to Sutton Park and you can walk
01:04 all day.
01:06 Definitely, we love to walk all around the Jewellery Quarter. It's really old, lots of
01:12 history. You can jump on a tram and then walk or also up to Edgbaston which is a very nice
01:17 walk in the Quarter Triangle. We love walking around the city. Every Sunday we walk for
01:22 a few miles. So much to see and do and along the canals, 100% miles of canals.
01:29 Living in a mailbox, I'd say the canals. Just walking down there, they're lovely. Coming
01:36 upon the Bull Inn, Aussie Inn, the train station, just everywhere. Birmingham's a real nice
01:42 place.
01:43 And lots of pubs on the way.
01:46 I like Clent. I've lived up there on and off for years so it's a place I know. There's
01:52 some nice parks around Birmingham. There's all sorts of places.
01:56 Yeah, you go around and even you can go on the scooters and stuff or have a little scoot
02:04 around if you don't want to walk. I feel like the canals is a good place to go for a walk.
02:09 It's peaceful, it's calm. There's not a lot of people there really. You can just chill.
02:15 It's nice to be with a friend anyway. Just chill, you know, great vibes.
02:19 There's quite a lot of places that you can go for autumn walks around here. I'd probably
02:24 say one of the best places to go is Winterbourne Gardens. It's in Selly Oak near University.
02:31 It is, I believe, free for University students but also free on specific days. So you have
02:39 like beekeeping shows where it basically opens up the entirety of the gardens to you. You
02:46 can go and have a look around. It's got like cultured sections such as Japanese, Chinese
02:52 parts but also you can go and see how bees are raised. You can try different honeycombs
03:00 and it's just a really nice place overall.
