00:00 Rare photos released by Pyongyang show Kim Jong-un, commander-in-chief of a nuclear strike drill.
00:06 Firing two short-range ballistic missiles into the sea on Wednesday,
00:10 this is the latest in a series of missile launches, including this one in July.
00:15 State media said of Wednesday's drill that in case of a cross-border attack,
00:20 they were rehearsing a scorched-earth strike on the south,
00:22 after which they would sweep in and occupy the territory.
00:26 In response, says Pyongyang, to the deployment of American B-1B aircrafts
00:31 as part of joint military drills with South Korea.
00:34 These bombers make the North particularly uneasy, as they can be used for nuclear attacks.
00:39 For South Korea, who mobilised tanks, howitzers and 1,600 soldiers for the drills,
00:45 it's a necessary show of force.
00:46 "If another provocation takes place, we will firmly commit to being a strong
00:52 shield of freedom with overwhelming responses."
00:55 As both North and South Korea cry provocation on the other,
00:59 Washington insists the drills are not invasive, but defensive.
