00:00 your questions that'll let you get to your three-day week.
00:04 You answered yesterday about a lot of more.
00:07 Do you expect to have a full, healthy roster for...
00:12 Yeah, I don't know if we'll have all 53.
00:16 We'll see where we're at next week, but we should have the most organized anyway.
00:24 Devin said she hasn't made some transactions between yesterday and today.
00:30 Yeah, we made a couple of transactions.
00:32 We added a couple of runners to the practice squad,
00:37 and we released a couple of players on the practice squad.
00:41 Was that very weather and summer?
00:43 Yeah.
00:47 There's a lot of transactions that happen in the first few weeks of the season,
00:52 and it's all about roster management.
00:54 How far along are you all in Tennessee?
00:59 Yeah, I think we're pretty far along, particularly in first and second down.
01:06 I feel good about where we're at.
01:08 We've still got a few things to kind of do as a coaching staff,
01:13 but we've got good practice today.
01:15 We're primarily on Tennessee today, so we'll get back to work on those guys.
01:20 We're going to finish up a little bit of the game-planning process
01:23 and be ready to go for a good Monday practice.
01:26 How valuable is Tyron Madden to you just when it comes to Ed McMahon?
01:30 Yeah, he's been awesome.
01:33 That's part of what we were hoping to get out of him when he came here
01:36 is a little bit of that veteran presence, veteran leadership.
01:42 I think the great thing about Tyron is you know what you're getting every single day.
01:48 He's a consummate pro in terms of how he goes about doing his job
01:53 and taking care of his business.
01:55 He's a guy that very rarely makes mistakes.
01:59 You know, he's usually in the right spot.
02:01 And so we know exactly what we're getting with that player on a day-in and day-out basis.
02:06 We don't know anything about Marcus Macy.
02:09 How comfortable are you with the guys behind him?
02:12 Yeah, comfortable.
02:13 Yeah, very comfortable.
02:15 I think it's a good group.
02:17 You mentioned the two runners added to the practice squad.
02:19 We'd seen some early reports, Tony Jones Jr. and Jordan Mims.
02:22 Yeah.
02:23 What did you see in those guys that you wanted to--
02:25 Well, Tony's a guy that's been in the system.
02:30 You know, he really has been in the same basic install meetings all throughout training camp.
02:36 So there's a familiarity in what we're doing offensively.
02:39 So that was what was intriguing about him.
02:43 And Mims is a guy that we watched on tape and felt like he had some--
02:49 you know, a little bit of change of pace back, some quickness, change of direction,
02:56 as well as his ability out in the backfield.
03:00 A couple people have been giving Rizzy love for the spin moves that he put on film.
03:05 He's not getting in a habit of giving rookies too much love.
03:10 Let's try to phrase this in a way that you're not giving him too much love.
03:13 And then defensive interior group as a whole.
03:18 Yeah, I like it.
03:19 I like it.
03:20 I mean--and there's some differences, you know, in the players.
03:24 I'd say, you know, when you look at Malcolm Roach, he's quick, sudden, explosive.
03:31 Breezy is very similar in that regard, much bigger, but an athletic interior player.
03:39 And then we've got some guys that have really good power in Sheppard and Saunders.
03:47 So, I mean, I think there's some versatility inside with those guys.
03:51 That group, I mean, so much of that you hadn't seen them all play--
03:57 I mean, none of them really played together prior to this training camp.
04:00 So how is that that you've had like a month and changed to see them?
04:05 Like how are they as a unit there?
04:07 Yeah, look, I think they perform well in practices and in games
04:11 when they've been called upon.
04:12 And, you know, we felt good about them when we--whether it be Breezy
04:19 and we draft him or Sheppard and Saunders when we signed them in free agency.
04:25 I mean, we saw something on tape that we liked.
04:30 And I think they fit into, you know, what we're looking for inside.
04:35 I think we're probably a little deeper at that position
04:38 than maybe where we've been in the past.
04:41 Is Kendrick Miller dealing with an injury?
04:43 He's got a hamstring.
04:45 Is that anything that could jeopardize week one or you--
04:50 See next week.
04:53 Injury reports are coming out real soon.
04:56 One more day.
04:59 Big picture.
05:01 You said last week you really were happy with the trajectory of where you're at.
05:06 Can you kind of maybe explain a little more about that?
05:09 Like what in particular are you most confident about the way things are going?
05:14 Well, I think this.
05:15 I think, you know, when you're out here every single day
05:19 and you're watching your guys practice, they're practicing hard.
05:24 They're practicing really fast.
05:27 And our execution overall has been pretty good.
05:30 And so, you know, when you see that speed and the execution together,
05:36 it gives you confidence.
05:38 And when you see, you know, an offense and a defense that, you know,
05:44 there's a lot of back and forth,
05:47 and you're seeing positives on both sides of the ball,
05:50 it gives you confidence in your football team.
05:52 And so that's why I like the trajectory we're on.
05:56 But, you know, look, we'll start playing real games here a week from Sunday,
06:01 and we'll get a chance to find out really quick where we're at.
06:04 I remember last year you talked about the grit you liked in your team.
06:08 Is there anything in particular on this team that would be a characteristic?
06:12 I think it's the competitiveness.
06:15 I think it's probably been one of the most competitive camps that we've had
06:18 here in a while.
06:20 And I think that comes when you have balance on your football team.
06:25 You know, it's hard to be competitive if one side of the ball is winning
06:30 everything.
06:32 And so, you know, the times the defense gets better, the offense responds.
06:37 Same thing the other way around.
06:39 When the offense gets better, the defense responds.
06:42 And not just on a day-to-day basis, but from period to period.
06:46 And I think that's the mark of a good team.
06:52 All good?
