00:00 Tom, what are you going to be playing during self-isolation?
00:03 Oh.
00:07 Fortnite.
00:09 [dramatic music]
00:13 So, the way that the world is at the moment,
00:14 a lot of us are finding ourselves spending a lot more time indoors
00:17 than we usually would, and for people like me,
00:19 I'm finding myself reaching for the controller and the keyboard
00:22 and the mouse a lot more than I usually would.
00:24 And a game that I know for sure I'm going to be spending
00:27 a lot of time with whilst I'm stuck indoors
00:29 is Animal Crossing.
00:31 It's a game that really rewards you going in,
00:33 checking in every day, spending a few hours every day
00:35 doing a little bit, you know, fishing,
00:37 getting inevitably stung by wasps,
00:39 and talking to your ridiculously adorable villagers
00:43 until you well up.
00:44 And also in a time when you're not seeing people
00:46 as much as you might like,
00:47 actually getting to go to other people's islands
00:49 is really nice.
00:50 Like, I get to see my friends, I get to send them presents,
00:53 more presents than I would be able to afford in real life.
00:55 I think for me, my kind of happy place games to go to
00:59 when you want to sort of get away from stuff
01:00 is anything kind of big where there isn't a big story
01:04 to follow or a plot point.
01:05 It's more a kind of a world that you can inhabit.
01:08 So Fallout 76, for all its woes,
01:10 is somewhere I go quite a lot.
01:12 And I'm playing a lot of No Man's Sky at the moment.
01:14 I've been updating my base at the moment,
01:15 which is, you know, a mission I've given myself.
01:18 I think that's what I kind of like and look for
01:21 in kind of escapism games.
01:22 I don't want to follow a story.
01:23 I don't want to have a burden to sort of lift
01:27 or, you know, anything to fix.
01:28 I just want to kind of turn up in a world,
01:30 wander around and, you know, kick some rocks,
01:32 see what's going on.
01:33 So yeah, No Man's Sky at the moment
01:34 is my go-to kind of place.
01:36 Just flying around, find a planet,
01:38 you know, meet some monsters, talk to some aliens.
01:40 I suppose a game that I stopped playing
01:42 that I should give a second chance to
01:43 is something like Assassin's Creed Odyssey.
01:46 I stopped playing it the first time
01:47 because it was just so overwhelming.
01:49 But that's one of the things
01:50 that I found most difficult about it.
01:52 Just turning it on and seeing all of those things
01:54 pop up on the map and all the hundreds of thousands
01:56 of different side quests that I can go and do
01:58 was just a little bit much at the time.
02:01 But now I've got loads of extra time on my hands,
02:03 maybe I should give it another go.
02:04 So the game I'm finally going to get around
02:06 to start playing is Bloodborne.
02:08 It's a game I've always really, really tried hard
02:12 to get into and it's always just kind of eluded my grasp.
02:16 I know so many people who rate it
02:18 as one of the best games ever made,
02:19 certainly one of the best games of the generation.
02:22 And every time I've started, I've just bounced off it hard.
02:25 I've ended up going back to FIFA or Rocket League
02:28 because I'm terrible like that.
02:30 But last year I committed to Sekiro and I loved it.
02:34 It's the first FromSoftware game I've really got on with
02:37 and really sort of clicked with.
02:39 So now that I've kind of got a lot of spare time
02:42 on my hands like most of us,
02:43 I'm sort of hoping I can channel my boredom
02:46 into finally beating Bloodborne.
02:48 Another game that I'm going to be returning to
02:50 but with a slightly different twist on it
02:52 is The Witcher 3.
02:53 But I really want to play the game on Deathmarch,
02:55 finally, because I want that platinum.
02:57 And also because I've been spending a lot more time at home,
02:59 my fridge makes this noise that sounds a lot like
03:01 the beginning of the Gwent song.
03:02 It goes like, "Ooooh!"
03:04 And you know, like in the same way
03:05 that when someone's cooking something,
03:06 can you smell it?
03:07 You really want that food.
03:08 Or if you're watching someone on TV eat something,
03:10 you're like, "I'm in the mood for that."
03:12 It's kind of doing that to me.
03:13 Like I can hear my fridge and I'm like,
03:15 "I fancy a bit of Gwent."
03:16 - Lara, what game are you going to play now
03:18 you've got loads of time on your hands?
03:21 She only really knows one game.
03:22 Ready?
03:23 Touch!
03:24 Good girl.
03:25 Touch!
03:30 Yeah!
03:30 (upbeat music)
03:34 (electronic music)
03:37 (upbeat music)
