00:00 A cause of death for legendary TV host Bob Barker has been revealed.

00:05 According to a death certificate obtained by TMZ,

00:09 the Price is Right host died as a result of Alzheimer's disease.

00:14 The diagnosis wasn't public and it's not clear how long the TV host battled the disease prior to his

00:22 death. The legendary game show host died on August 26th in his Hollywood Hills home at the age of 99.

00:30 His rep Roger Neal told NBC News, "It is with profound sadness that we announce

00:36 that the world's greatest emcee who ever lived, Bob Barker, has left us."

00:42 Bob hosted the Price is Right from 1972 to 2007, making it the longest running daytime game show

00:50 in North American television history. Bob got his start in radio and eventually moved to California

00:57 where he was discovered by a game show producer. He hosted the game Truth or Consequences

01:03 and later began his decades-long run as the Price is Right's emcee.

01:08 Bob also became an executive producer on the show in 1988

01:12 and was responsible for creating several pricing games on the series.

01:17 Bob's final episode aired on June 15th, 2007, with his retirement coinciding with his 50th year

01:25 as a TV host. In October of that year, comedian Drew Carey took over the role.

01:31 Following news of Bob's passing, Drew took to ex-formerly Twitter to react, writing,

01:37 "Very sad day for the Price is Right family and animal lovers all over the world. There hasn't

01:43 been a day on set that I didn't think of Bob Barker and thank him. I will carry his memory

01:48 in my heart forever." Adam Sandler, who starred alongside Bob in the 1996 movie Happy Gilmore,

01:55 also remembered his late friend on social media, writing, "The man, the myth, the best. Such a

02:01 sweet, funny guy to hang out with. Loved talking to him. Loved laughing with him. Loved him kicking

02:07 the crap out of me. He will be missed by everyone I know. Heartbreaking day."
