00:00 If you're ready to hit the high seas for adventure, we have news for you.
00:03 Because just recently, out of Orlando, Disney Cruise Line has announced details for its newest ship,
00:11 the Disney Treasure. And joining me is Principal Set Decorator for Walt Disney Imaginary,
00:16 Kristen Ziegler. Good morning, Kristen. How are you?
00:19 Good morning. I am doing so well. I'm super excited to be here to talk Disney with you.
00:26 Oh my goodness. I am so excited. And first of all, where are you sitting right now? Because it looks so amazing.
00:33 Yes, I am in the Grand Hall of the Disney Treasure. And so we are so excited for guests to come on
00:42 board and join us on the Disney Treasure. The Grand Hall is kind of the heart of our ship.
00:47 And the heart of our ship and the story of our ship is all themed around adventure. So it's
00:52 truly what sets the Disney Treasure apart. And from the moment you step into this Grand Hall,
00:58 you're going to see that our design was inspired by real-life places such as Asia and Africa,
01:03 as well as fantastical lands like Agrabah from the Disney film Aladdin. So it's truly a special
01:08 place on board the Disney Treasure. Oh my goodness. What I love is that you listen to families who,
01:13 you know, travel the high seas and those that even visit the park. So what are some of the new
01:18 spaces and experiences that people are going to see on this ship? One brand new space on board
01:24 the Disney Treasure that I'm most excited about is Plaza de Coco. So this is a first ever theatrical
01:30 dining experience centered around the film Disney Pixar's Coco. And so you will be sitting in
01:36 the plaza in Santa Cecilia. In this restaurant, you're going to have Mexican cuisine, of course,
01:43 with a modern twist. There will be music, live entertainment. So just a really fabulous space
01:49 for our guests. All centered around that idea of family. So Plaza de Coco, super excited for
01:55 this space. Also, yeah, for the first time, we're going to be bringing in stories from our theme
02:00 park attractions. And so we're very excited about that as well. Oh my goodness. I'm sorry. I'm so
02:05 excited about this because what I love is that you're getting that Disney experience like you
02:11 would get at the park on the ship, which is really cool. And we know that, you know, when we think of
02:16 Disney, we think of kids, but I'll tell you, I'm a big kid. So what about adult kids that you have
02:23 going on there? There are totally spaces for adults on board the Disney Treasure. And so,
02:30 like I mentioned, we're bringing some of our stories from our theme parks on board the ship.
02:35 And one of those is a space for adults called Skipper Society. So our guests love our lounges
02:41 on board and Skipper Society is a lounge themed after the classic Disney parks attraction,
02:46 Jungle Cruise. So super fun attraction. This is going to be a super fun lounge where you'll get
02:52 all the wit and humor of those Jungle Cruise skippers. You'll be able to grab a cocktail
02:56 or a snack, sit back and hear live music. Really going to be a great space for adults on board.
03:03 I love this. Okay, let's just say, what makes this Disney Cruise different from other Disney
03:07 Cruise lines? Absolutely. So we've talked about this story of adventure, right? That's kind of
03:15 that thread throughout our entire ship. Every venue on board is a stage. And so the story of
03:20 adventure is going to be told in each of those stages. The Disney Treasure is also going to sail
03:25 seven night itineraries. So both in the Eastern and Western Caribbean, which will give guests
03:31 the opportunity to pack so much magic in their vacation. It's truly going to be fantastic.
03:37 And so our maiden voyage will take place December of 2024. It's the very first sailing
03:43 and bookings come out in just a couple of weeks. So September 20th, you'll be able to book your
03:49 sailing on board the beautiful Disney Treasure. Oh my goodness. Okay. Can I personally give a
03:54 little advice to people about taking a Disney Cruise? Are you ready? Please, I'm ready. So
04:00 what you want to do is you want to go for maybe just a two day trip to the park. All right. And
04:08 then go on the cruise and then do a three day after the cruise at the park. It's the most fun
04:14 you can have with the family. And that gives you a chance to actually see things. And after being on
04:18 the cruise, you get to go do it again. The reason why I did it a lot when they first did the cruise,
04:22 it was so much fun. And it was a smart way to do that. And that's what you guys want. You want
04:26 people to enjoy the whole Disney experience. Am I right? Absolutely. I love that idea. And it's
04:32 so great too that Port Canaveral, our home port for the Disney Treasure, is so close to Walt Disney
04:36 World. You can truly even pack those vacations into one. So I love that idea, Brad. That's it
04:41 right there. All right. Where can people find more information? What you mentioned about us
04:45 getting ready for this voyage on the Disney Cruise? Yeah. So to prepare for your own adventure
04:52 on board the Disney Treasure, you can visit DisneyCruise.com and they'll have all the information
04:56 there. Perfect. Kristen, thank you very much for joining us. Thanks so much for having me today.
05:03 You're welcome.
