00:00 For 30 years, my brother's death was his mystery.
00:04 Did he trip? Was he pushed?
00:06 Did he kill himself?
00:08 There's no way to undo it, man.
00:10 Try it.
00:12 Scott was shy, gentle, and ridiculously smart.
00:17 He was quite brilliant. Everyone idolized him.
00:19 Scott was fearless all of his life.
00:22 But this person that I knew better than anybody else,
00:24 I didn't know as well as I thought I did.
00:26 He came out to both of us, and I was scared.
00:29 I knew people who were gay. I knew people who had been beaten.
00:32 I thought he would be an easy target.
00:34 Scott decided he'd move to Australia.
00:37 He went that far away. That was hard.
00:40 It didn't really cross my mind that he'd get into trouble.
00:43 There's been some human remains found at the bottom of North Head,
00:47 and the body was naked.
00:49 I get a phone call telling me that Scott has died.
00:53 He fell from a cliff. I have to take a break.
00:56 That night, everything changed.
00:59 The coroner said, "Your brother committed suicide."
01:02 It was clear from the very outset that there were tensions
01:05 between the police force and the Johnsons.
01:08 Committing suicide naked is almost unheard of.
01:12 What's going on here?
01:15 We were learning about a pattern of violence against gay men.
01:20 They were really violent, violent attacks.
01:23 It's terrifying that the world can be so poisoned.
01:27 We've had some chilling evidence.
01:29 We've got 97 persons of interest.
01:32 What are the police waiting for?
01:34 All of these things just keep snowballing.
01:37 It was an absolute hornet's nest.
01:39 Oh, my goodness. No one knew it was coming.
01:41 The walls are closing in.
01:43 It's really challenging to watch someone in your family
01:46 be consumed by unanswered questions for so many years.
01:49 I started to realize that I was going to have to go alone.
01:53 It's about finding justice for my brother.
01:56 Sometimes you just have to stir the pot.
