00:00 The Sanatan Dharma debate steered by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin's son and
00:05 Minister Uday Nidhi Stalin does not seem to end soon.
00:10 Vanchit Bahujan Agadi Chief and grandson of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar has said that the Congress
00:16 and the Nationalist Congress Party propagates and believes in orthodox Sanatan Dharma and
00:22 considers the Vanchit Bahujan Agadi as politically untouchable.
00:27 Let's understand the full story but before that if you are watching this on Facebook

00:37 Vanchit Bahujan Agadi led by Prakash Ambedkar who had days ago referred to Sanatan Dharma
00:43 as untouchability has today in a blistering attack at the Congress and the Nationalist
00:49 Congress Party said both the Congress and NCP the propagators and believers of the orthodox
00:55 Sanatan Dharma have started practicing untouchability in politics.
01:01 Let me read out the entire tweet for you viewers.
01:04 We are not only treated as untouchable in society but untouchable in politics as well.
01:10 With the advent of the BJP RSS, both the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party, the propagators
01:16 and believers of the orthodox Sanatan Dharma have started practicing untouchability in
01:21 politics.
01:23 If an invitation was not needed for the India Alliance then why you were sending invitations
01:28 to the parties?
01:29 The tweet further said, I wonder if you had invited Lalu and Stalin who are heavyweight
01:35 socialists within the marginalized sections, Shudras and Achuts, had you not needed them
01:42 to drive the alliance?
01:43 The tweet read.
01:45 Now let me give you a backgrounder.
01:48 The Vanchit Bhaujan Agadi is currently in an alliance with the Shiv Sena UBT who have
01:53 clarified their stance through Party mouthpiece Samna's editorial that said, Udayanidhi Stalin's
02:00 comment on Sanatan Dharma might be in sync with the Dravidian ideology but has hurt the
02:05 sentiments of 80-90 crore Hindus.
02:08 Our stance is what it has always been, Garb se kaho hum Hindu hai which translates to
02:15 proudly say we are Hindus.
02:18 Now let's come back to Mr. Prakash Ambedkar.
02:20 Mr. Prakash Ambedkar ahead of the third India Alliance meeting in Mumbai had many times
02:26 expressed his wish to be part of the United Opposition and the Congress had said it had
02:32 not received any proposal from Mr. Ambedkar's party regarding the same.
02:37 Mr. Ambedkar's party does not have a single representative in the Lok Sabha and the Vidhan
02:44 Sabha.
02:45 But the party enjoyed a 7% vote share in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
02:50 Interestingly, in 2019, the Vanchit Bhaujan Agadi was in an alliance with the AIMIM which
02:58 many of the Congress leaders consider as BJP's B team.
03:02 In many constituencies of Maharashtra, the collective vote share of the VBA and Congress
03:08 was more than that of the winning BJP candidates.
03:13 Many Congress leaders had blamed VBA for their narrow defeats.
03:17 They had then blamed the VBA for helping the BJP-Shiv Sena alliance.
03:22 The VBA received majority of Dalit, Muslim and some OBC votes which could have arguably
03:29 gone to the Congress.
03:31 In Nanded, the then MPCC President Ashok Chavan lost to Sena's Pratap Rao Chithalkar by a
03:39 narrow margin of 40,000 votes.
03:42 If his votes were added to the VBA candidate, they come to 6,12,854 which is 1.26 lakh more
03:52 than the winning candidate.
03:55 Even former Mumbai Congress Chief Sanjay Nirupam and former Union Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde
04:01 would have not lost if the two parties had come together.
04:05 Congress Spokesperson Atul Londe had then said that the Congress had extended a long
04:11 hand to VBA by giving them 6 seats in the coalition but they weren't interested.
04:18 The VBA had also demanded Nanded and Baramati seats and then raised that demand to 22 out
04:26 of 48 seats.
04:28 So can excluding the Vanchit Bahuja Nagadi from the India alliance prove beneficial for
04:35 the MVA in Maharashtra or it could prove to be a mistake?
