00:00 We're gonna talk about classic memes today, like "Smiley Girl," "Fashionable Guy," and
00:04 "Long-Talent Swamp Creature." "Good Morning America" tweeted to the young, hip
00:08 kids this morning. Does #CryingLeBron join other meme greats like
00:12 #TeaLizard, #CryingJordan, and #SmockingTheMask? Tweet us!
00:17 There's a lot going on here.
00:19 "Tea Lizard," of course, refers to Kermit the Frog drinking tea that's typically
00:27 called, "But That's None of My Business." So they really f*cked that one out.
00:30 And #Smocking refers to, I guess, a photo of the mask looking unhappy.
00:37 We dug around for #Smocking, and the only thing we could find was this
00:43 Twitter account @RealMaskParody who tweeted things like "Smocking" and "Smocking"
00:50 on 4/20, and hasn't tweeted again since 2015.
00:54 "Ooooh! Somebody stop me!"
00:58 So immediately, Twitter started smocking...well, mocking "Good Morning America,"
01:03 saying that those things aren't really things. And GMA tweeted a few hours later,
01:07 "Twitter has spoken. #CryingLeBron does not join other popular memes.
01:11 Sorry Kermit the Frog." So either this was an intentional comment about how
01:15 traditional media tries to relate to the younger kids, or the GMA Twitter account
01:19 really is run by an 80-year-old English literature teacher who typed memes into
01:23 lycos.com and went with whatever they could find. For more trends like this, go
