00:00 I think we all need something else to get us through this semi-charmed kind of
00:03 week. Third Eye Blind played a show in Westlake, Ohio this week. It was a benefit
00:09 for the nonprofit musicians on call, but since it was near Cleveland during the
00:13 Republican National Convention, there were plenty of GOP attendees in the
00:16 crowd. So it's not surprising that there were boos from the crowd when the lead
00:19 singer Stephen Jenkins decided to talk about things that Republicans don't
00:23 always love. Peter Hamby tweeted, "Epic @thirdeyeblindtroll of RNC event.
00:28 Played none of the hits. Bashed GOP platform. Asked who here believes in
00:33 science? So much booing. Played none of the hits." Jenkins talked about a gay
00:38 family member before playing Jumper. "Like my cousins who are gay into the
00:43 American fabric and to actually, actually have a feeling to arrive and move
00:48 forward and not live your life in fear and imposing that fear on other people."
00:56 Probably the only recognizable song in the set. And he responded to the boos
01:00 like a pro. "You can boo all you want, but I'm the motherf*cking artist up here." One fan tweeted that she'd never been more
01:08 disappointed, and Third Eye Blind responded, "Good. Sassy." And they've
01:13 responded to headlines that they specifically went after the GOP, tweeting,
01:17 "We would never play the RNC. We played a charity event for musicians on call at
01:21 the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame." Allison Bennett tweeted, "Hey boys I routinely
01:25 interacted with in 1999. Third Eye Blind just trolled the RNC and Green Day has a
01:30 Broadway musical." Random Tourist tweeted, "Woke up respecting Third Eye Blind. 2016
01:35 continues to be strange." What did they ever do to you? For more trends like this,
