Kidnapped Man Is Reunited with His Mom

This mother went 21 years without seeing her son, but they've finally reconnected.

00:15 Steve Hernandez was taken from his home

00:18 in Rancho Cucamonga by his father.

00:20 Steve's parents had been fighting,

00:21 so his mom came home from work one day

00:23 to find that both her husband and her son were now gone.

00:26 His father also took every single photo of Steve

00:29 and all his ID documents.

00:31 His mother only had one grainy photo of Steve for 21 years.

00:36 But a recent DNA test was able to identify Steve

00:39 who had been living in Mexico all this time.

00:41 He was finally reconnected with his mother, Maria Mancilla.

00:45 He says, "I lived all these years without my mother.

00:48 "Then to find out she's alive in another country,

00:51 "it was emotional."

00:52 Maria told ABC, "This anguish I've carried is gone.

00:55 "Now that I have my son back,

00:57 "I spent 21 years looking for him, not knowing anything."

01:02 and hopes to stay in the US and now attend law school.
