00:00 Hello everyone, you're on the Buffalo Channel. In the wild there is a constant battle for survival.
00:06 Some fight for food, others for their lives. The strongest always survive.
00:11 Here's a new episode of the Animal Battles.
00:13 Wolf vs. Elk A resident accidentally noticed the battle
00:25 and filmed it with a drone. Despite the obvious difference in size, the wolf suddenly appeared
00:31 from the forest and attacked the elk standing in shallow water. A long fight ensued between
00:36 the animals. The elk fought off wolf attacks and tried to hoof it, yet the predator managed
00:41 to get close to the victim and claw at its leg. A couple of minutes later the elk managed to get
00:46 away and tried to leave, but the wolf kept up and ran after the intended victim. Eventually,
00:51 the elk managed to get to deep water, where the tired predator did not dare go. Adult elk are
00:57 hunted only in packs, so it is unclear what the wolf was hoping for in our case.
01:02 Now there are the mustangs or wild horses, the symbol of the American wild west. There is a
01:16 strict hierarchy within wild horse society, and it is dangerous to be elected on such a social
01:22 ladder. The main male always serves as the protector of his group. It conducts constant
01:27 patrols, searching for males who wish to mate with its mares. If another male is keen to join
01:32 the herd, it's not so easy. The stallion leader will make life very difficult for it because it
01:38 won't tolerate a trespasser. Balancing on two hooves, they start exchanging strokes. The
01:43 muscles of the jaws are so developed that they can tear muscle tissue and even break bones.
01:48 Another tactic is a blow with the hind hooves, the force of which is a ton.
01:53 If such a blow hits the head, it is possible for it to be fatal.
01:57 Lions versus hyenas. Two of the most formidable forces on the vast African savannah live in
02:11 families, which allows them to hunt the largest prey. Together, they manage to slaughter not only
02:17 large antelope, but even the formidable buffalo. Their feud has lasted for thousands of years,
02:22 but so far neither side has managed to win. The reason is that lions and hyenas live in the same
02:28 area, and they share a common food base. Interestingly, hyenas have significantly
02:34 higher biting power than lions, and their teeth are stronger so that they can bite through any
02:39 bone. As always, the battle is for food. It's clear that a one-on-one lion can defeat any hyena,
02:46 but it's all about numbers, and against a hungry and nimble pack, even a few lions can't resist.
02:52 Elephant versus hippopotamus. In this video, you can see the elephant wanted to swim in the swamp
03:05 and forgot about its cub, who always follows it. The elephant was knee-deep in water, but the poor
03:11 baby almost drowned, for it was only helped by its trunk, which it carefully held above water to
03:17 breathe. But this was not the end of the elephant problems, as there were two hippos in the swamp.
03:23 They do not like strangers in their territory, so they slowly rushed to the elephant, which was
03:28 barely hanging on, but the furious elephant mother reacted to the threat in time. It attacked the
03:34 hippos and drove them away with its powerful tusks. It's good that everything ended well for
03:39 the elephants. And next, we have two giant male brown bears fighting for dominance during the
03:49 mating season on the Alaska Peninsula. This battle can lead to serious or even fatal injuries, as the
03:55 urge to mate is strong. The female brown bear prefers the most dominant males. The most important
04:02 thing for it is to pass on the winning genes to the future offspring. Males can weigh up to 680
04:07 kilograms, which makes them the largest terrestrial predators on Earth. Though these predators seem
04:13 clumsy, it is a well-known fact that a grizzly can outrun even a horse at a short distance.
04:18 I never saw a clear winner in this fight. And this is a small battle between a bear and its
04:31 cubs against the wolves. In this footage, you can see how the brown bear family was surrounded by
04:36 wolves, who were not just attacking and surrounding the cubs, but also protecting their young. The
04:42 mother was in quite a quandary about whether to continue on despite the wolves or to go back,
04:47 where a male was waiting who could easily attack the cubs. The wolves hid in the bushes during the
04:52 fight, and the cubs stayed together near their mother. The wolves managed to bite the mother
04:57 bear several times, but the fight did not turn into a serious attack. The bear family continued
05:03 on their way. The cubs crawled out of the bushes and began to play, and it is good that no one was
05:09 hurt. Let's start with a heartbreaking situation. A large anaconda strangled a baby calf. People
05:20 just didn't have time to come to the rescue. The cow, which found its baby, tried for a long time
05:25 to shake it with its muzzle, but it did not help it. People at that time tied the anaconda with
05:30 ropes and tried to drag it across the river, but it looks like the cow realized what had happened,
05:35 and after the bite on its nose, it just got furious. You can see the real mother's rage.
05:42 The cow started to take as much revenge as it could, trampling the snake with her hooves and
05:46 muzzle. I think the anaconda is unlikely to be left alive, especially after what it did to the calf.
05:53 A brave turtle faces a pack of fearful cows. I've seen many videos of cows being curious and
06:09 cowardly at the same time. This won't even be a battle, but just a funny episode with a turtle
06:14 and cows who couldn't figure out what a live rock was doing in their pasture. The white cow gets the
06:19 first bite on the nose. It bounces back in fright and runs away. Curiosity only grows after this,
06:26 but no one else risks approaching. The bravest was a little calf. It came up as if nothing had
06:32 happened and started sniffing the evil turtle. There was no need to wait for a bite in the nose,
06:38 and then you see yourself and the sacred cows scattering the whole herd.
06:45 Snake vs White Heron I don't know what kind of snake it is,
06:49 but it looks a lot like a viper. And after all, the little white heron is a pretty rare bird
06:54 that happened to get bitten by a snake. It must have been hunting toads too. I'm sure the snake
06:59 didn't attack first, but was just defending itself, for such a big bird was certainly out of
07:04 its depth. Clawing its sharp fangs into the wing, the viper was not going to let the poor bird go.
07:10 The white heron defended itself as best it could and even pecked the snake in the head,
07:15 but there was little result. In the end, the heron managed to escape, or rather,
07:21 it was just let go, after which it crawled to shore with a wounded wing. I think that it will
07:26 not be able to survive because it has received the fullest dose of deadly poison. In previous
07:32 episodes of Battle of the Animals, we have already seen what a successful hunter the hungry jaguar
07:38 is. It can easily track down even a crocodile, attack and stay in this fight as a winner.
07:43 Jaguars very often hunt caimans. Having killed such a large prey,
07:55 the predator stays near it and eats it in two tries.
08:03 But not always everything ends so smoothly. There were cases when the jaguar itself almost
08:09 became a victim of the toothy reptile. Here you see how the crocodile dragged the cat of prey
08:14 into the water and only a few seconds later, by some miracle, the jaguar managed to get out.
08:21 [Music]
08:23 And then another funny incident. When the jaguar again overestimated its abilities,
08:39 the crocodile grabbed its tail and held it, not allowing it to get out of the water. But luck was
08:44 again on the side of the cat and it managed to escape from these powerful jaws.
