Victorious Festival 2023 was a huge success this year with artists including McFly and Ellie Goulding performing.

00:00 Victoria's Festival began over 10 years ago back in 2012 and it has grown over the years
00:06 to become one of the biggest music events in the South East.
00:09 The festival prides itself on working with local independent businesses and each year
00:14 they create an entire area for people to showcase and sell their products.
00:19 Hello we're South Sea Deli, we're here at Victoria's, it's our third year, we're very
00:35 excited to be feeding the people of Portsmouth to South Sea.
00:38 Lovely food, we've got roasted short, what have we got?
00:42 We've got lamb shoulder, chorizo with roasted aubergine, all our Greek fabrics, Greek salad,
00:47 and coffee all day, good coffee, good food, good people.
00:53 And how has it been in the past, has it got better over the years?
00:56 We're learning each year, it's got bigger, better.

01:10 The headliners this year included Ellie Golden, Annie Mack, Jamiroquai, the Kaiser Chiefs
01:15 and Pete Tong, as well as a surprise set from McFly who took to the Common Stage on Saturday.
01:33 So today we're down at Victoria's Festival on day one, here is Caroline and Gail for
01:38 the first day.
01:39 Hi everyone, gorgeous weather down here.
01:40 Oh my god, it's amazing and it's going to be like this hopefully for the next three
01:45 days, maybe a tiny bit different, but it's not going to stop us.
01:51 And gorgeous seeing Jamiroquai, Sabian, Charlatans, anything else in between?
01:54 Do you know what, everything, it doesn't matter where you go, there's always someone to watch
01:59 or join in with or people to chat to, it's a really friendly vibe.
02:05 I came last year and it was sunny the whole weekend and I spent a lot of time in the people's
02:12 lounge, literally just lounging and chatting to people.
02:15 It was really lovely, so friendly, I really do think there's something for everyone here.

02:19 It's my first year and she's got every item in her bag, I've not got enough.
02:24 I've just got to run around like this, just copy what she's doing.
02:28 And obviously Caroline, you came for the first year in the dockyard didn't you, how was it

02:33 It was interesting and fun, it was a different experience.

02:41 I came here, I came to the dock with my kids at the time and actually I didn't find it
02:47 as kid friendly as this, this is really kid friendly, loads of places to chill out, find
02:51 shade, kids can play, do whatever.

02:55 It's grown a lot, it's grown a lot, I guess, cowboy fun definitely.

03:03 There was also a huge children's area equipped with a funfair and a number of local playgroups

03:09 Conor's Toy Library made their debut at the festival and they are offering a play tent

03:20 So my name's Abby, I work for Conor's Toy Library as an outreach worker, so we provide
03:25 11 stay and play sessions throughout the week, we also provide a toy loan service, a toy
03:30 store, as well as outreach support and today we're at Victorious offering toys and a play
03:36 session for the families attending.
03:38 Victorious Festival gets bigger and bigger each year and the Portsmouth News are excited
03:42 to see what they have in store for 2024.
