00:14 The couple attended the annual tennis tournament in NYC on Friday with their little girls 9-year-old

00:23 That's the fam cozied up in the stands, watching the match, cheering, and noshing on some snacks.
00:29 "What do you guys like to do?"
00:31 "Eat."
00:32 "Yeah, it's pretty much, I think it's the same as everybody else's date night.
00:36 Other than the water slide of chocolate fudge, which we do every night."
00:41 The pair's kiddos sat in between them and at one point, Violet, who was sporting a blue
00:46 ruffled dress, snuggled up with her dad and sat on his lap.
00:50 "This is a love letter to my daughters.
00:52 This is really the idea for me of what parenthood really means."
00:55 John and Emily tied the knot back in 2010 at their pal George Clooney's Italian villa.
01:01 "We were having sushi and he said 'congratulations, blah blah blah,' and he went 'you gonna
01:04 get married in my house?'
01:05 And we went 'no, no, no.'
01:06 We thought he was just saying that, like people just say that and they don't mean it.
01:11 And then he asked again and we went 'no, we're not gonna do that.'
01:13 And then he asked again and then we said 'sure.'"
01:15 "Take me through this.
01:16 So now you decide to get married at George Clooney's house and you're kind of insecure
01:19 saying to yourself 'gee, does he really mean this?
01:22 How far should we go with this?'
01:24 So now you have to check in with Clooney.
01:25 So how many people do you invite to your wedding?"
01:27 "We had 65."
01:28 The two welcomed their first child, Hazel, in 2014 and had their second, Violet, two
01:34 years later.
01:35 "I think they got quite used to being completely joined at the hip with us.
01:39 It's sort of been magic really."
01:41 And the fam's tennis outing comes nearly two months after Emily revealed she's taking a
01:46 break from Hollywood to prioritize her family.
01:48 "My oldest baby is nine.
01:51 We're in the last year of single digits and I just feel there's cornerstones to their
01:58 day that are so important when they're little.
02:01 And it's 'will you wake me up?
02:03 Will you take me to school?
02:04 Will you pick me up?
02:05 Will you put me to bed?'
02:07 And I just need to be there for all of them for a good stretch.
02:11 And I just felt that in my bones."
02:14 But don't worry, fans can still catch Emily next month when her film Pain Hustlers premieres
02:19 on Netflix.
