00:03 - Morning, Addy.
00:04 - Oh my God, Taps, did you hear about Jason?
00:06 - Easy, Addy, I just walked in.
00:08 It's way too early for gossip.
00:10 - It's never too early, especially when it's hot goss.
00:12 Okay, so guess who was right over there
00:14 waving around his naked finger?
00:16 - Jason!
00:17 - How much coffee have you had?
00:19 - Oh, not nearly enough.
00:20 I've been up all night working on the Mortensen presentation
00:22 but are you even listening to what I am saying?
00:25 Jason is not wearing his wedding ring.
00:28 I heard he and his wife, that ice queen in marketing,
00:31 are splits.
00:32 - This is sad.
00:33 - I haven't even heard the saddest part.
00:35 - No, I mean, you're sad.
00:37 - She's pregnant.
00:38 With twins, I heard.
00:40 I'm guessing it was in vitro
00:42 'cause any time the OBA 35 with multiples is like two.
00:45 - Do you listen to yourself?
00:46 - Yeah, it's true.
00:47 - No, I mean, listen to yourself.
00:49 Why are you talking like that?
00:51 - I don't know.
00:52 Something is wrong with my tongue.
00:56 Help, help.
01:00 - Oh my God, Addy.
01:01 - What is happening to me?
01:03 - Did you put almond milk in your coffee?
01:07 Are you allergic?
01:07 - I don't know.
01:09 - Okay, I think you're having an allergic reaction.
01:12 Does anybody have an EpiPen?
01:14 Okay, I got you.
01:15 It's okay, do not worry.
01:16 Okay, I need an EpiPen, anyone?
01:18 Hold still.
01:20 Okay, okay.
01:21 Thank you so much.
01:22 Okay.
01:23 Okay, relax.
01:26 Okay, okay.
01:27 Okay.
01:32 - Whoa.
01:35 - 911, what's your emergency?
01:38 - Her tongue is out of control.
01:39 - Whose tongue?
01:40 - My coworker, she was just talking
01:41 and all of a sudden her tongue started puffing up.
01:43 - Okay, how puffed were you talking?
01:45 - Like as big as my fist.
01:46 - Can you tell me where you're calling from?
01:48 - We're at Tela Lively, 1108 Sawyer.
01:50 We're in the second floor break room.
01:52 - Help is on the way.
01:52 What's your name?
01:53 - Tabitha.
01:54 - Do you wanna tell me how this got started?
01:55 - I thought she had a nut allergy.
01:57 She drank some almond milk
01:59 and so I tried giving her an EpiPen
02:01 but then I think I just made it worse.
02:02 Oh God, is that even possible?
02:04 - Unfortunately, it is.
02:06 You said that her tongue is just swelling.
02:08 - Yes.
02:09 - And does she have a rash, hives, anything like that?
02:11 - No, not that I see.
02:12 - Your friend, was she under any stress
02:14 or in a state of excitement or agitation
02:17 when the symptoms started?
02:18 - She was up all night working on a presentation
02:20 and I'm pretty sure she was really excited
02:22 about Jason not wearing his wedding ring.
02:25 - Is Jason her husband?
02:26 - I think she wishes.
02:27 - I think your friend has a condition
02:30 called hereditary angioedema.
02:32 It's facial swelling triggered by stress.
02:34 - Oh my God, Addy.
02:37 Oh my God, Addy.
02:38 - Tabitha, talk to me.
02:39 What's going on with Addy?
02:39 - She can't breathe.
02:40 Her tongue is blocking her throat.
02:42 Where are the paramedics?
02:43 - They're still a few minutes out.
02:44 - She's turning blue.
02:45 - Jason, I'm on with 911.
02:47 - What happened?
02:48 - Tabitha, you said you guys are in the break room.
02:49 Is there a drinking straw anywhere around?
02:51 - Wait, wait, I have a straw in my water bottle.
02:54 - That's perfect.
02:55 Jason, you listening?
02:56 - Yes, ma'am.
02:56 - Okay, do you guys keep silverware in the break room?
02:58 Maybe like a spoon?
02:59 - Yeah.
03:00 - Okay, good.
03:01 I need you to take the handle end
03:02 and use it as a depressor to press Addy's tongue down.
03:05 - Okay, yeah.
03:07 - Tabitha, I need you to take the straw
03:09 and gently guide it over her tongue,
03:11 but we're not trying to shove it all the way down.
03:13 We just want to get past the swelling.
03:15 - It's in, it's in.
03:18 - Okay, that's great.
03:19 - She's not breathing.
03:22 - Then I need for you to wake her up.
03:23 - Addy, come on, Addy.
03:25 It's not working.
03:26 - Jason, I need you to pinch Addy and pinch her hard.
03:29 - Pinch her?
03:30 - Just do it.
03:31 - Okay.
03:32 (gasping)
03:34 - Okay, she's breathing.
03:36 Oh, thank God she's breathing.
03:37 - That's what I like to hear.
03:38 - Austin EMS.
03:39 - Step aside, we got it in from here.
03:40 - Grace, the paramedics just got here.
03:42 Thank you, you were amazing.
03:44 - Well, you guys weren't too bad yourselves.
03:46 - Thank you.
03:47 - BP's good, respirations are almost normal.
03:49 - OPA's secure, airways are clear.
03:51 - So she's gonna be okay?
03:53 - I didn't hurt her with that straw.
03:54 - No, actually, you saved her life.
03:56 - There it is.
03:57 My wedding ring.
04:01 My wife was gonna kill me if I didn't find this.
04:04 - And let that be a lesson to you,
04:08 once that thing is on, it stays on.
