An Afghan woman has staged a hunger strike in the German city of Cologne to call attention to fundamental rights violations by the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. The parents of Pakistani Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai also joined the protest.

00:00 Afghanistan is the only country in the world where a woman, a girl, can't go to a public space, to a park, to a gym, to a lake.
00:10 So this is the next level of apartheid.
00:27 These two years Afghan women can't breathe, they have nothing, and it is a gender apartheid in Afghanistan by Taliban.
00:38 All the world is silent, and they don't care about Afghan women.
00:53 And my message is that they must accept this gender apartheid in Afghanistan, and why they are silent about this.
01:15 August 2021, when Kabul fell to Taliban, since then Malala and I, myself, we are raising our voice.
01:24 And also immediate cessation of financial support to Taliban and their visits, their official visits.
01:40 It's important to call providing international and financial support to Taliban, because it perturbates the apartheid regime.
