00:02 Okay, let's get to a Vermont,
00:05 a state that we don't touch on a ton.
00:07 I know sports betting's plan in Vermont
00:10 to be legalized early 2024.
00:13 And which apps at this point,
00:15 which companies at this point, Sam,
00:16 do you anticipate being live in Vermont when they go live?
00:20 - Yeah, so it's gonna be 2 to 6
00:24 under the Vermont sports betting law
00:26 that was passed last year.
00:28 And those companies that just flash on your screen,
00:30 BetMGM, DraftKings, Fanatics, Fanduel,
00:34 and what will be ESPN Bet
00:36 are all the apps that applied,
00:39 sent in their applications to Vermont.
00:41 So it's gonna be one, two, three, four,
00:45 a couple of those guys.
00:47 Thought it was most notable
00:47 that Caesars didn't send in its application.
00:51 It's obviously had a lot of problems lately
00:53 with hackers and things like that.
00:56 Although I don't really know if that
00:58 would affect its sports betting operation.
01:00 It could be because of the structure
01:02 that Vermont is going to regulate sports betting in.
01:05 It's kind of different than every other state.
01:07 There's gonna be a revenue sharing agreement with the state
01:10 instead of what would traditionally be a tax rate.
01:14 So they're gonna have to negotiate with the regulators,
01:18 see what kind of deal they can strike.
01:21 It's gonna be a point system
01:25 where they get awarded based on
01:27 how much they might give to the state.
01:29 So it's a process,
01:31 but we should have our first few apps
01:33 by the next few months of next year,
01:36 hopefully if things go according to plan.
01:38 (upbeat music)
01:41 you
