Pepa diz sentir grande mágoa ao falar dos motivos que causaram a sua demissão do Cruzeiro, em 29 de agosto. Na ocasião, o time havia recém completado sete jogos sem vencer no Campeonato Brasileiro. Para o técnico, que ainda está em Belo Horizonte, só restou o sentimento de frustração.
“Quando falo sobre isso, falo com um bocado de mágoa e frustração, porque não queria sair. Não esperava, nem queria. Mas, pronto. É assim. Estou aqui, estou torcendo de longe para que ocorra tudo bem. E vai ocorrer.”
“Não me faltou nada (no Cruzeiro). A única coisa que me senti foi um pouco desapoiado. Você treina o Cruzeiro, com 11 milhões de torcedores, uma paixão louca. De repente, tchau, acabou.
