00:00 Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, AFC East Division rivalry game here, Mark.
00:07 820 Eastern, 520 Pacific kick it was.
00:10 24-17 the Dolphins on top of the Patriots.
00:14 They cover as two-point road favorites.
00:17 46 being the total, landing just under the total.
00:23 So another under game here.
00:25 There's only two of them on the slate.
00:27 But the Dolphins do win and cover as the road favorite in a game that ended on a play that
00:33 I don't think you agreed with.
00:35 Anyway, I'll throw it over to you.
00:36 What'd you take away from New England tonight?
00:40 Their offense and Mac Jones have to play from a positive game script.
00:43 He's not a quarterback you can play catch up with.
00:45 He's just not.
00:47 And not only that, it's not even just him.
00:48 There's not enough weapons for him to play catch up with.
00:50 I mean, who are the receivers here?
00:52 Juju Schmitz Schuster, Kendrick Bourne.
00:57 These are not receivers that are even number twos to a certain extent in this league.
01:04 So you're asking them to be number ones with a quarterback that doesn't elevate anybody.
01:08 So it's not a favorable spot for Mac.
01:13 And they have to play with a lead and they have to be able to establish the run and their
01:16 defense has to be able to create opportunities and turnovers.
01:19 And that didn't happen tonight.
01:20 Dolphins is too good of a team.
01:23 Yeah.
01:24 And I mean, the outside, I saw, man, a stat here.
01:28 Well, first off, from pro football full circle, they have two of the top 12 wide receivers
01:34 in their pro football PFF rankings anyway.
01:38 So we get the talent on the outside.
01:40 And speaking of this Dolphins offense, two of being as accurate as he is down the field,
01:44 they're 40 times to rekill 4.29.
01:49 Schuster 4.32.
01:52 They get a waddle 4.37.
01:56 I mean, these 40 times all under four for man, there's so much speed on this Dolphins
02:02 on this Dolphins offense.
02:04 If they're able to stay healthy, man, who knows?
02:07 Sky's the limit for this Finn's team.
02:09 I mean, it's coming from a Finn's fan here, Mark.
02:11 But I mean, they just went on the road back to back weeks, knocking off the Chargers and
02:16 the Patriots.
02:17 They're coming back home, going to go off as the favorite this upcoming week.
02:20 But overall, this is a great start for the Dolphins.
02:23 It's tough to go to an O in the NFL, both games on the road, man.
02:26 So I don't know.
02:27 How do you think this season ends for the Dolphins?
02:32 Probably with the playoffs.
02:33 I mean, what's the reason to believe that they wouldn't make it?
02:35 You know, what's the reason to believe that their defense is their only real liability?
02:40 And they've got to get that figured out.
02:42 But you know, still, this is a team right now that looks offensively incredibly tough
02:45 to stop.
02:46 They're a Patriots defense, and they absolutely, you know, were able to put the clamps down
02:51 on Miami for the most part.
02:53 But Miami made enough clutch plays when they needed them to go out and get a win.
02:56 And you give them credit for that.
02:58 Mark, what do you think about the last play of the game besides the kneel down where the
03:03 Patriots had the football, kind of pitched it back to an offensive lineman.
03:08 It looked like he had the first down, but the call was overturned.
03:12 The ball given to Miami, thought it was an athletic play by the Pats offense.
03:16 It didn't work out, at least according to the NFL officiating.
03:21 Before we get to the officials, Mike Isecki, it is fourth and four.
03:28 If you don't get a first down, the game is over.
03:30 Why would you run a three-yard out route?
03:33 Know where the sticks are, run the route to the damn sticks, and catch the ball.
03:39 So the dumb forward progress rule, regardless of where you get tackled, automatically nets
03:43 you a first down.
03:46 I can only imagine when Bill Belichick goes over the tape, how much he's going to eviscerate
03:51 Mike Isecki in front of the whole room for not taking one more step, which takes less
03:57 than a second, less than a half a second at an NFL player's speed, and then cutting up
04:03 and catching the ball at the first down marker.
04:05 Then you don't have to throw it back to a 300-pound offensive lineman who clearly caught
04:09 the ball, clearly took enough steps forward, clearly fell on the line to gain, and yet
04:14 somehow the NFL officials decided, "Yeah, no, he's short."
04:21 I don't even care.
04:22 I don't have any money on the game.
04:23 I just, you know, look, in order, there are three things that ruin the NFL on a weekly
04:28 basis.
04:29 You want to know what they are?
04:30 And this is the order.
04:31 Kickers, referees, and coaches.
04:33 That's it.
04:34 They make the NFL unwatchable to a certain extent.
