00:00 When it comes to being prepared for
00:02 severe weather, every tool you need
00:04 is right here in the palm of your
00:06 hand with the Accuweather app.
00:07 With the app you can get watches and
00:10 warnings to the palm of your hand
00:12 anytime active weather is around.
00:13 But here's the thing you have to
00:15 make sure your push notifications
00:17 are turned on for your local area.
00:19 Let's show you how to do that
00:21 in case you need a refresher.
00:23 We'll start with this.
00:24 Go to the three lines at the top left of
00:27 the app once you're there, go down to
00:29 settings once you're in settings,
00:31 go to manage notifications,
00:32 turn on your government alerts,
00:34 and from there you can select the
00:36 notifications that apply to your area.
00:38 For example,
00:39 here at Accuweather HQ or in
00:41 State College Pennsylvania.
00:42 So we have our State College
00:44 Pennsylvania notifications turned on,
00:45 but maybe we don't necessarily
00:47 need them today for Hays, Kansas.
00:49 You can go into edit locations
00:51 and remove haze.
00:52 Hopefully this helps you and we will
00:54 always be here to help you through the
00:57 storms.
