00:00 [LAUGHTER]
00:01 [NON-ENGLISH SPEECH]
00:03 I understand Telugu because of watching films.
00:06 I don't need to read subtitles.
00:08 But I have not tried speaking.
00:15 I don't have enough friends, probably in Bangalore,
00:19 at least in my cinema circle, who can--
00:23 who converses with me in Telugu.
00:24 So I can't-- I'm really sorry.
00:29 So when we released "Saptasagar Dache" in Canada,
00:35 many of them asked us that, why aren't you
00:37 going for a Pan India release?
00:40 So I mean, when you did--
00:42 your previous film, "Charlie," was a Pan India release.
00:44 Why aren't you going all out like that?
00:47 So my idea was that "Triple Sun Charlie," obviously,
00:53 there are dog lovers across the country.
00:55 And there is a market.
00:56 And it's a crime as a producer if I
00:58 don't explore that market.
01:00 But there are a few films which probably--
01:03 the film will take you.
01:04 The film will travel on its own, especially when--
01:09 that's the kind of belief what we had in "Saptasagar
01:11 Dache," not just me, but also Hemant M. Rao.
01:15 So we always believed that the film will be liked.
01:21 And it will travel on its own.
01:24 And when we-- me and Hemant, when
01:27 we were discussing the possibilities,
01:29 that how can it travel?
01:31 So I knew that Charlie did--
01:35 after "Karnataka," Charlie did the best in Andhra and Telangana,
01:40 this region.
01:43 And I always consider this as the land of cinema
01:49 in the whole country, probably.
01:51 Because in so much--
01:54 in 12 to 13-kilo population, the kind of--
01:56 the craze what people have for cinema--
02:00 cinema is a culture here.
02:02 And me and Hemant, we are not just the students of cinema,
02:08 but we are also in--
02:11 how do I call it?
02:12 I mean, for me, for us, cinema is God in a lot of ways.
02:17 Because other than cinema, there is no life for us.
02:21 If you ask us, what is the worst thing?
02:24 Probably he has two dogs, which he likes more than cinema.
02:28 But even after doing Charlie, for me, cinema stays there.
02:31 The worst-- my first love.
02:35 And when you come to the land of cinema
02:38 and the way the cinema is treated here,
02:42 we feel we are home in a lot of ways.
02:45 So thank you so much.
02:47 First of all, thank you for the audience
02:50 of Telangana and Andhra for accepting Charlie
02:55 and giving us an opportunity here
02:58 to release Saptasagar Dachaeyallu.
03:00 [INAUDIBLE]
03:02 Yeah.
03:03 I mean, OK, this I should have done it before they spoke.
03:09 But I'll still give a small introduction
03:11 on Hemant and Rukmini.
03:14 So this is third film, which Hemant has directed.
03:18 And all three films are super hit in Canada.
03:23 The first film, I was a part of the film.
03:26 And when we made that film, he was very adamant
03:32 that I want to finish this film in a very small budget.
03:36 So I was like, no, we have a bigger market than that.
03:39 So we can little extend the budget.
03:41 So he was like, no, this kind of film,
03:44 we don't have a record of doing well in Canada.
03:49 So we are experimenting anyways.
03:51 So I don't want to spend much.
03:54 So that's the kind of mindset, that's
03:56 the kind of responsibility he takes towards the producer,
03:59 that if the producer is investing money on my film,
04:02 then he should make good profit, not lose money.
04:05 So I don't want to take any risk.
04:07 And I'm sure that's the same mindset he worked
04:10 his second film to, Kavaludhari.
04:12 But luckily, this time, he went all out.
04:17 And I believe this is his first film where he
04:22 has explored his full potential.
04:25 Without any compromise, he has made a cinema
04:29 which has come from the heart.
04:31 And that's the reason.
04:32 And every time a film which has come from the heart,
04:35 it has always created a trend.
04:41 Not just in theaters.
04:42 Once it is out of theaters, people
04:44 start valuing it even more.
04:46 So that's the kind of film he has made.
04:49 And at the same time, Rukmini, this is her second film.
04:53 The first film was also in Canada.
04:57 But if you watch her performance in the film,
05:00 she is just tremendous.
05:02 That is because of the kind of dedication what she has.
05:06 She always had a book in the set.
05:08 And she used to write a lot of notes,
05:12 coming up with a lot of questions.
05:13 And I used to get scared sometimes.
05:17 Am I doing a good job?
05:19 Because in 10 years, I have not done this.
05:22 But you see it on screen.
05:25 So yeah, that's all I would like to say.
